An alarming incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district, where a vegetable vendor was allegedly caught on video spitting vegetables. The video, which has gone viral on social media, led to the seller's arrest. Police shared details about the case on Sunday.
Anupshahr police in Bulandshahr district has arrested a vegetable vendor on charges of spitting vegetables. The arrest was made quickly after a video of the incident went viral on social media. The image shows the seller, sitting at his stall, discreetly spitting on the products, trying to avoid attracting attention. During investigation, the accused was identified as Shamim, a resident of Naya Basti of Anupshahr police station. Shamim runs a small vegetable shop in the local market.
Anupshahr Circle Police Officer (CO) Girja Shankar Tripathi, giving details of the incident, said that on December 14, police came across a video showing a vegetable vendor at a wholesale shop in the market allegedly defiling vegetables by spitting repeatedly.
After reviewing the video, the police took swift action and registered a case against the accused, identified as Shamim, under sections of the Indian Penal Code. Shamim was immediately arrested, and after completing the necessary legal formalities, he was sent to jail, the CO confirmed.
