Michael Chicklis is the most (and deserved) known for playing corrupt detective LAPD Wick Macky on Shield - but before, he was more than an actor in comedy. There's a reason he got the part of Ben Grimm/something in Director Tim View films "Fantastic Four".
Before Shield, the two leading TV roles of Chiklis were the "Commission" (for a small police commissioner in a small town in Yorkyork) and "Dadio" (a short -lived Sitkom for Daddy Home). Then he made a conscious choice to change his image, shave his head, go to the gym and eventually Landing "Shield" for escape with his neighbor, series creator John Ryan.
If this sounds familiar, or the past roles of Chiclis make his performance because soft looks shocking, remember that Brian Cranston also played stupid Daddy Hull at Malcolm in the middle before becoming Heisenberg at Breaking Bad.
One of the more beautiful early roles of Chiclis is a short guest post at Seinfeld. Yes, 28-year-old Michael Chicklis (still cradle hair head) appears in the episode of season 3 "The Stranded". George, Jerry and Elaine go to Long Island's entertainment house, hosted by Chiclis, Steve. Jerryryers gives an empty "stop from if you ever are in the city" invitations to Steve - who follows it a week later and stops from Jerry's apartment. Steve is left to hang out in Jerry's apartment, but he gets drunk with Kramer and ends up calling for a prostitute named Patty. Steve leaves Jerryi to raise his toe account - which he almost arrested him for a request.
In an interview for 2013 for the Archive of American Television, Cyclis said that "more than any only thing I have done in my career, that episode ... more people have referred."

Chiclis added that he was looking at Seinfeld because his appearance to the "tight" had received many remaining checks.
Michael Chicklis got a lot of remnants of Seinfeld
"Remains" are payments for film and television workers (writers, actors, crews, etc.) when a project that was involved in generating new revenues. The most obvious example is when television episodes are repeated and/or put in union through many channels. The remains provide the workers that made the episode receive a reduction in the continuous profit they enter; They were the main point of quarrel in the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023, as streaming streamers of old projects were not covered by the old residual agreements.
Seinfeld, as one of the most popular television shows ever made, repeated a lot and strong union - including "The Stranded". Some of the later negotiations on Seinfeld were For Asoneyson Alexander, Iaululia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards who want remnants of union.
No one in their true mind will claim that Steve has shown a more important role than Vick Mackie in television history, or a more impressive performance of Chiclis (or the ugly sweater on the matter). But he still gets a widespread recognition, because the violent and incessant police procedure such as the "shield" (especially the one who does not bend back to make the boys look like heroes) will always have a more limited attraction than good than good. Made comedy as Seinfeld.
