A Houston mother was found drunk on a sidewalk with her 2-month-old baby and 1-year-old in the middle of a recent winter storm.

He was taken into custody on Tuesday, January 21, by Sheriff Ed Gonzalez of the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Xformerly known as Twitter to share news update with citizens. Gonzalez explained that that morning, his office "received a call to 911" reporting "an adult woman and two children ... lying on the sidewalk."

"Deputies responded and determined the baby was 2 months and 1 year old." Sheriff Gonzalez confirmed the same initial tweet.

According to Sheriff Gonzalez, EMS officials arrived at the sign and treated the babies who were "suffering from cold injuries."

The mother showed signs of intoxication. EMS arrived and quickly treated the two children who were suffering from frostbite injuries.

Per USA Todaywhen authorities arrived, they reportedly found "an open alcoholic beverage" next to the mother. The Harris County Sheriff's Office was then reportedly contacted by the Harris County Prosecutor's Office.

Additionally, the district attorney "accepted charges of endangering a child in the mother."

Finally, according to the outlet, the winter storm was a "once-in-a-generation" weather event that brought at least two inches of snow to the area.

A New Mexico mother will be sentenced to prison
