During the Dec. 21 episode, Jost and his "Weekend Update" co-host Michael Che participated in their popular segment of reading jokes written by others. Jost hesitated before introducing the part, saying, “I want to dedicate this next joke to my boo, Scarlett Johansson.” As the camera cut to Johansson, watching from backstage, she looked visibly worried.
Jost continued, cracking jokes about Johansson's recent 40th birthday and their family life. “Hey boo, you all know that Scarlett just celebrated her 40th birthday, which means I'll be out of there,” he said, laughing as his wife looked confused.

Colin Jost reveals Scarlett's true reaction

Appearing on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Jost recounted his wife's reaction, saying, "I think I'm in trouble with a lot of people. Scarlett was really shocked."
He added that "SNL" producers warned Johansson about the joke's content, but even that didn't prepare her for the delivery. "They were like, 'Hey, would it be good if Michael (Che) did a little joke at one point, like v-gina?'" Jost explained. "She was like, 'Sure, you know, whatever, I'm open to it.'" But when the Arby's roast beef graphic appeared on the screen, Johansson was taken aback.
