Luke Skywalker pulls off a lot of amazing feats in Star Wars thanks to his mystical abilities, but his most amazing feat has nothing to do with the Force. We're talking about Darth Vader's ability to escape the second Death Star while still being dragged by storms that could have easily killed him while dragging Darth Vader's corpse to the nearest bay. However, one fan theory may explain how Luke survived: simply put, all the Imperials thought he had killed Vader and Emperor Palpatine, so they left Luke alive.
Luke Skywalker is terrifying.

As viewers, we know what happened near the end Return of the JediLuke Skywalker gives in to his rage and after destroying Darth Vader, he drops his lightsaber and surrenders. In turn, Palpatine begins to strike the young Jedi with force lightning, and only he stops Darth Vader Throwing the boss to the shaft. Eventually, Vader dies from a bolt of lightning running through his body, but none of the Imperials see the throne room conflict or Vader's death as redemption. Luke Skywalker It is the most terrible enemy in the galaxy.
Think about it: For the Imperials on the Death Star, Luke enters the throne room of Emperor Palpatine, their greatest boss and the scariest man they know. The film begins by showing how the idea of Palpatine coming to the space station sends Moff Jergerod into a state of panic and fear. The Imperials see Luke chained into Palpatine's throne room and come out free... the only logical conclusion is that he can kill or defeat Palpatine, and no Storm of any title wants to fight the man he successfully created. He took the king.
At this point, skeptics suggest that not everyone aboard the Death Star was aware of Luke Skywalker's existence. In fact, it was a closely guarded secret. So, very few Imperials would hear that the young warrior had done the impossible and escaped the clutches of the most powerful man in the galaxy. It would have been. Impossible One other major detail to miss: Luke Skywalker dragging what appears to be Darth Vader's corpse.
Body of Darth Vader

Palpatine was a very abstract threat to most Imperials, but Vader was a very real one. This is the guy who commands star destroyers and visits military bases, killing even high-ranking officers who displease him. It was a scourge of the Imperial service that anyone aboard the Death Star would be horrified to see. Yet here comes a young wimp who appears to be taking a large bag of garbage to the garbage compactor, dragging the Sith Lord's body into the sea of transport.
None of this is to downplay Luke Skywalker's powers or numerous accomplishments, but the continuing lesson of the Star Wars prequels is that all it takes to kill even the most powerful Jedi is enough people firing blasters at once. Luke might have. easily He was killed at any point on the Death Star, but survived because everyone thought he killed the most powerful people in the galaxy. It's a simple misconception that he's alive, though some say this is proof that his powers work in mysterious ways.
