On Tuesday, January 21, Instagram user @livebitez took to the platform to share the apparent live stream the footage shot from the crowd at the inaugural ball. In the video, Nelly is seen taking the stage as a narrator's voice seemingly shares the rapper's life story with the crowd.
Furthermore, the narrative explained that Nelly was born in a military base in Austin (Texas) and St. He grew up in Louis, Missouri. Also, the narration tells that several members of Nelly's family have served in the armed forces.
"Only in America can you come from the streets of St. Louis to the White House," the narration read before Nelly's performance began.

Ahead of her performance at Donald Trump's Inaugural Ball, she spoke more about her decision
Before going on stage, Nelly talked about her decision again ABC News. The rapper has repeated that he thinks it's an "honor" for the president, and apparently he "never thought" it was possible.
"For me it is not political. The political side is over for me. He won, and growing up, I was taught to respect the office, so Nelly is here,” he said.
Nelly also explained why she didn't back down from the initial criticism she received for her choice.
