
Nina Dobrev Los Angeles is reflecting on the devastation caused by the wildfires — and encouraging its fans to do the same.
"Hello everyone. It's been such a sad time in Los Angeles lately," Dobrev, 36, said on Sunday, Jan. 19. Instagram Post “I am absolutely sick to my stomach with all the destruction and devastation caused by this fire displacing and destroying so many families. My heart breaks for all the people affected by this fire."
Dobrev explained that he was among thousands of people who Evicted their homes Due to wildfires that started earlier this month. Dobrev left his home on January 9, which would have been his 36th birthday.
"Definitely not how I planned to spend my birthday," Dobrev said. “But I wanted to make this video to thank and request everyone for their birthday wishes. I don't know about you, but I feel guilty for living."
Dobrev noted that her home was "closer to one of the fires," but ultimately "made it." "But many others were not so lucky," he added.
Dobrev encouraged her followers to donate, linking a spreadsheet in her bio that highlighted GoFundMe links to "many families" who lost their homes.

"What people really need now is financial assistance to help them get back on their feet and start rebuilding their lives and their homes," he said. "The Pacific Palisades, Altadena-Pasadena communities, in particular, need it the most."
For her birthday, Dobrev donated on GoFundMe pages and said she would "love it" if her followers could make the same gesture — donations small or large.
“I put myself in the shoes of all these people who Houses are burnt Their belongings on the ground, their memories, everything that made them feel safe in the world is now gone, and their insurance dropped them,” Dobrev said. "For some of them, the scale of the tragedy is immeasurable and it's really hard to comprehend. They've lost everything."
Dobrev said her heart was "in a million pieces" for the family affected by fire. Dobrev ended her video sharing that she was thinking of the victims, saying, "My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you."
“The devastation in L.A. is immeasurable and heartbreaking 💔 This is my plea to help. For my birthday, my only wish this year is that you help a family in need,” Dobrev captioned her post. “I link to the Google Doc in my bio. If you've seen all the photos and videos online, please consider donating to Black families and other historically marginalized communities in Altadena There is a dedicated section for groups that have been hit particularly hard.”
She concluded, "Thank you for your support always, but especially now. The road to rebuilding and healing for so many families who have lost everything has just begun, and it will be a long one... ❤️🩹 #LosAngelesfires."
