A fake account pretending to be Brad Pitt details the scam

BFM television The woman, identified as Anne, was first contacted by someone who claims to be Brad Pitt's mother. Despite her skepticism, Anne stayed in contact with the person for 18 months and later received messages from someone posing as an actor. He explained to BFM TV that he was not familiar with social media, which made it difficult for him to understand.

"At first I told myself it was fake, it's ridiculous. But I'm not used to social media and I didn't really understand what was happening to me." Anne explained.

According to PEOPLE, Anne initially sent more than $10,000 after the fake account said she needed the money to cover the custom fees for the gifts she allegedly sent. After telling the scammer that she had recently divorced her husband, Anne allegedly sent almost all of her $798,000 divorce settlement.

"There are so few men who write to you like that. I liked the man I was talking to. If he knew how to talk to women, he was always very well done.' continued Anne.

The person posing as Pitt said he had kidney cancer and needed a loan because his divorce was pending. Angelina Jolie The scammer went even further with Anne AI sending images of Brad Pitt's face to men in hospital beds.

Anne did her own research and discovered that Pitt was having an affair with Ines De Ramon, but the scammers denied it. However, she hasn't let the fake Brad off the hook easily. He has since filed a complaint and a police investigation has been launched.

After Anne's story went viral, a representative for Brad Pitt stepped in to address the situation AND! the news. The unidentified representative warned people to be careful with random contacts online.

"It's outrageous that scammers can take advantage of the strong connection fans have with celebrities, but this is an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online publicity, especially from actors who don't have a social media presence," the spokesperson told the outlet.
