Alba and Warren's marriage had its fair share of marital problems before finally collapsing.

The couple met in 2004 on the set of "Fantastic Four" and tied the knot four years later with the hope of living together for the rest of their lives.

However, a source revealed the ups and downs they had to work through in their marriage, he told Daily Mail that the change in their "priorities" and lack of love became a problem along the way.

"Things have been pretty bad with them romantically for over a year," an insider told the outlet. "They're so committed to their kids and their careers, but they haven't developed their relationship. They're just friends."

"When they started, they thought they were going to work and produce movies and TV shows together," the source continued. "But when their jobs took off and they had children, their priorities changed, and in turn, their feelings."

Although there were rumors that infidelity was the cause of their decision to end their marriage, the source explained that this was not the case for the couple.

"They both want a fresh start," the insider noted. "There was no cheating. They were just going through a rough patch for the last year or two, and it was time to move on."

According to the news, an insider said that Alba's success in business has left Warren thinking that their relationship is no longer a priority for her.

The "Honey" actress co-founded The Honest Company in 2011, which is valued at $1.44 billion when it goes public in 2021.

Meanwhile, Warren's business ventures, which include production company Verso Entertainment and underwear brand Pair of Thieves, reportedly bring in over $100 million in revenue.

A source told the Daily Mail that Alba was "so focused on her job that she didn't give Cash any leverage to make things work, and he tried."

"She just kept rejecting all attempts to go on dates and do things as a couple," they said. "It got to the point where it was easier for him to give up and give her what he felt she wanted in the end."

Cash Warren's jealousy was the problem

During an appearance on Jane Kramer's "Whine Down" podcast in 2023, Warren opened up about how his jealousy nearly destroyed their budding relationship.

The Hollywood producer, who doesn't appear to have worked in the industry since 2015, explained that when they first got together, he was "really jealous of other guys and the attention she was getting from other guys," adding that "it just didn't make her to feel good."

"I've always been a pretty confident person in my (life), I've been walking my own path and really happy there, and the next thing you know, I'm constantly looking up and feeling jealous," he told Daily Mail. "I was like, 'I hate feeling this way. I don't feel good, and I know you don't feel good either.'"

Warren's jealous nature led to the couple taking a four-year break.

"It was jealousy. I turned into an asshole and we broke up," Warren explained, adding that he had to work on his feelings and became Alba's biggest supporter and "good teammate."

Meanwhile, the exes haven't officially filed for divorce yet, but are already negotiating the details of the upcoming split.

According to US Weeklya source explained that the estranged couple plan to file for divorce "soon," although the proceedings appear to have been stalled due to the ongoing LA fires.

"Kesh has been slowly moving things out of their house, but since the fire, they've been spending more time under one roof as a family," the source said. "They're there for each other right now because it's a very stressful time."

In the midst of their split, the source said People Magazine that they are still "friends and all about the kids", but suggested that it will be difficult for them not to formally split up as it is "hard to keep the spark" in their marriage.

"No matter what's going on right now, it looks like they're going to stay close," the insider said.

They continued: "If they're filing for divorce, it's not because of some hate drama. They still seem happy together. Jess has mentioned over the years that it's hard to keep the spark going."
