
Former President Barack Obama sure his wife Michelle ObamaHis 61st birthday was celebrated with great fanfare.
"Happy birthday to the love of my life, @MichelleObama," Barack, 63, wrote via X Friday, January 17. “You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor and grace — and you look good doing it. I am so lucky to be able to take life's adventure with you. love you!”
Barack also uploaded a photo of the couple holding hands across the table during a private dinner.
Michelle, for her part, Reposted His wife's note, captioning it, "Love, honey!"
Barack and Michelle have been married since 1992 after meeting a decade before their first legal careers in Chicago. They proceeded to welcome Daughters Malia and Sasha in 1998 and 2001 respectively. (Sasha completed the family seven years before Barack was elected president of the United States for the first time in two consecutive terms.)
Throughout Barack's political career, fans have often praised his seemingly perfect marriage.

"I don't want people to see me and Barack as a hashtag couple target and not know that no, no, there are broken things that happen in even the best marriages," Michelle said during one episode. "On Purpose with Jay Sethi" Podcast In January 2024. “After 31 years, yes, we still do (cross the line), but you know it quickly. And then you apologize. You learned to badmouth me, didn't you? It takes a second, doesn't it?"
He added, “I talk about marriage because I think that No. 1, most people don't talk about it. Not knowing what happens, you hit, about you, something normal, like, incomprehensible rough patch, and you want to quit. And it's like, 'Oh, no, no, no, no, no. It is not worth giving up. It's just the nature of things.' So I joked, 'Oh, you're mad at your partner, you've been mad for a year and you think the marriage is over.'
For Michelle, she and Barack have been able to "learn" from the hardships instead of giving up.
"Obviously, it's going to be hard, you know, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, with all the ups and downs in my marriage, with all the running for president," Michelle added at the time. "And if we hadn't stuck in there, we would have missed all the good."
Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23, both graduated from college and Moved out of family home. The sisters are still roommates, often inviting their parents over for drinks.
"We were taking them out to dinner, and they said, 'Why don't you come over to our spot for cocktails?'" Michelle recalls. today Show in 2022. “We were like, 'Okay, let's see how it's going to go.' Well, (at first), the martinis were a little weak. I don't think they really knew what it was."
