Cameron Diaz talks about her colleague from the series "Back in Action", Jamie Foxxwho had a stroke while shooting the film.

The cast sat down for a recent interview to promote the new Netflix movie, and Diaz shared that learning about Foxx's stroke "was scary" for everyone who loves the "Ray" star.

"Back to Action" with Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz is currently available on Netflix.

Diaz and Foxx sat down for an interview Extra which dropped on Jan. 16, when the "Back in Action" star shared her feelings about Foxx's stroke.

Foxx was in Atlanta filming scenes for the movie when he suddenly got a headache and passed out. He later learned he had suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke, and the "Blame It" singer spent 20 days in a coma following emergency surgery. The 57-year-old also had to relearn how to walk at a rehabilitation center in Chicago.

Diaz and Foxx have been friends for 25 years and have starred in two other films together — 1999's "Any Given Sunday" and the 2014 remake of "Annie."

Diaz said it was brave of Foxx to share the details of his stroke in his Netflix special, "Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was..."

"For every person who knows Jamie, it was terrifying," Diaz said. "For everyone who loves Jamie, the world is, like, everyone was worried... I can't even imagine how he feels. I'm so proud of him, how brave he was to do his show, to tell us everything. But you know , it's hard to approach him, and he says: 'Everyone is crying!'

Diaz had been retired from acting for 10 years before 'Back to Action,' and the actress credited Foxx with bringing her out of retirement." To be privileged enough to still be able to come back and make a movie after 10 years, you know, yes and keep making movies and to do it at this level and to make something this fun and entertaining for everybody, it's, you know, for me, I was really honored to be able to do it and to do it with Jamie," she said. is.

The "Charlie's Angeles" actress is raising two children with her husband, musician Benji Madden, and as previously reportedThe BlastDiaz said Foxx was "the only person" who could have gotten her into another movie.

"I thought if I was going to go back and make a movie, the only person I was going to go back and do it with would be this guy," Diaz said. "Seriously. I had other opportunities along the way and I kept saying, 'No. I'm not doing it, I told you... What? He asked Jamie? Jamie? Oh, I can do a movie with Jamie!' "

Foxx said that in order to get Diaz to agree to the film, he was "humble" and promised her that he would have "fun" filming "Back to Action."

"Look, we were very modest in our question," Foxx recalled. "We were very respectful in our request. There were a few promises. I said, 'I don't want your feet to touch the ground. I want this to be a fun thing for you.'"

Diaz added that she really had fun making the movie and noted that Foxx kept his promises.

"But even with that promise, which he kept, he took such good care of me," Diaz said. "It was really about the fact that I knew if I was going to go 10 hours a day, leave my family, that I would get you know, to do business with, you know, the most talented man in show business. Professional, fantastic partner. I knew it would be worth it to go no matter what and we would have fun."

"Back to action" premiered today on Netflix, and Foxx and Diaz play a married couple who are former CIA spies.

The pair are forced back into the world of espionage after their cover is blown, and the duo must explain their old lives to their children after confronting the bad guys at a gas station.
