Arsenal manager Charles Watts has given his insight Marcus Rashford transfer news we see at the moment where it looks like the Manchester United player could be on his way.
Rashford has struggled at Man Utd in recent times, having been left out of Ruben Amorim's squad for the away game against Manchester City yesterday.
It remains to be seen whether Rashford can return to the Red Devils, but it's been a year now since we saw him at his best, so links with a move are probably not too surprising.
The England international may not be doing well at the moment, but on his day he is a top talent and looks to be exactly what Arsenal need at the moment.
Arsenal are looking at ADVANCED contract negotiations!
The Gunners aren't really shooting, and it looks like the athletic Rashford would be good to give them more on the left side, or in central forward.
However, speaking alone CaughtOffside in his latest session of the Daily Briefing, Watts took down those links and said that he does not see this happening, despite the fact that there are many ideas of this kind at the moment, and in various other places in the past.
Marcus Rashford looks like Arsenal's biggest gamble
"Marcus Rashford's name always seems to pop up When it comes to Arsenal these days," Watts said.
"He always seems to be part of the conversation, especially among the fans, and it could be that way as we approach January given what's going on with him at Manchester United at the moment.
"Do I think he would be an opportunity for Arsenal? I don't think so to be honest. I'm not sure he's what they need.
"If it was still the Rashford of a few years ago then my opinion would be different. But if it was then he would have been playing a week, last week at United right now.
"But there isn't and there's a reason for that. So if Arsenal, or anyone else, is going to make a move in January then they're going to do it in the hope that they'll find their best form again.
"It would just be gambling." Similar to what Arsenal did with Raheem Sterling in the summer and it wasn't a gamble that paid off. Rashford would be very expensive.
"I think Arsenal have to produce something in January. It's clear they need one more viable option in the final third, even if it's a loan to get through the summer when they can push for what they want.
"This season has shown that he needs more. It was rumored in the summer that they would leave themselves with one less striker and that was the result of Sterling's late loan move.
"The fact that Sterling doesn't seem to be considered for a few minutes now, despite the team's desperate need for a goal, shows that this team is probably two attacking players where they are needed.
"So January feels important for Arsenal and their ambitions in the second half of the season. It won't be easy to get what's needed, but they have to do well.
Arsenal only managed a 0-0 draw with Everton at the weekend, and while Liverpool and Manchester City have dropped points in recent games, it remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta's side have enough to punish their rivals.
