This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" episode 7, "We're going to be in so much trouble."
The Skeleton Crew has been the refreshingly delightful family gift that keeps on giving, and this week was no exception. After paying tribute to the likes of "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "The Fools" Last week's seventh episode, titled "We're Gonna Be in So Much Trouble," revealed another treasure hidden through a thrilling Sherlock Holmes cameo.
When the show's young heroes and Jude (Jude Law) return to Athens, the former's parents are seen briefly held by security droids before an announcement is made to them and the rest of the local inhabitants of the planet. The voice belongs to the unseen "Supervisor", the presumed head of At-Atin's spare money operation. He's polite, straightforward and charmingly British - and exactly what you'd expect from none other than comedian, writer and actor Stephen Fry.
For keen-eared listeners of the show, Fry's voice is unmistakable and has already been applied to equally massive stories that are as beloved as the many that have taken place in the Star Wars universe. In front of the Skeleton Crew, the actor's elegant light could be heard narrating the Harry Potter audio books, along with a special reunion for the Harry Potter films. and the 2005 film adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Coincidentally, 2011 also saw Fry star opposite Jude Law as the slightly more neglected Holmes brother Mycroft in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The only question is whether these two will have an on-screen reunion before Skeleton Crew ends.
Can Stephen Fry's supervisor put an end to Jodd in Skeleton Crew?
While Jod may have finally touched the treasure he's been seeking for so long, there's a chance that the superior in charge of At-Atin's mint reserve has something to say about it. It would be a great little treat as the series comes to its inevitable conclusion to have former "Sherlock Holmes" stars Fry and Law appear on screen together once more, this time with the former as a celebrated bank manager in a galaxy far, far away. . Then again, considering a talent like Fry is even involved in this series, there's a chance there's more to this supervisor than we know.
For a story that has spent so long searching for Tuck Renaud's treasure, it would be a great twist in the story to have the legendary pirate finally appear in the Skeleton Crew as someone else entirely. What if, in a Wizard of Oz-inspired twist, it turns out that the mysterious overseer was actually Renaud all along, and he simply packed away his piracy days for a simpler life making his own gold instead? It would be great to see Fry come out from behind a huge pile of credits and admit that "Yo ho, yo ho, the life of a pirate just wasn't for me, after all." If so, we just hope Tuck doesn't fly off the lamp handle and go full Sith Lord on our beloved Skeleton Crew. Seriously, if even a hair gets singed on our boy Neal's head, we're going to go into Wookiee rage mode.
The Season 1 finale of Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew will air on January 14, 2025 at 6pm PST on Disney+.
