In the first episode of "Marvel Zombie", Kamala is preserved by Blade, who says that (thanks to his powers as an avatar of Konshu) he is aware of the transfer device that protects him. Kamala has no choice but to trust him, so they travel together at the Ohio Database, where they meet with Jelena and Alexei, along with the brilliant Melina (Curry Valgren). Melina has found a way to control the zombies, but the arrival of Wanda's "unequivocal army" annulling this strategy because they find a way to overcome this technical command. Melina dies shortly thereafter, encouraging Jelena and Alexei to help Kamala save the world, regardless of costs.

Episode 2 carries the group of the floating city of Helmut Zemo (Rama Valurie) (a kind of noe's casket for survivors but wicked). There, they join with Shang-Chi, Katie (Auquifina) and Jimi Wu (Randall Park) after trying to feed superheroes to water zombies. However, the arrival of zombie Wisor leads to all false hells, encouraging everyone (including the right!) To seek refuge in the escape floor that can potentially lead them to safety. Unfortunately, the floor requires manual overcoming, and Jelena makes a quick decision to be the one to do so. After ensuring that everyone is safe in the floor, she says goodbye to Alexei, who is by her side with sadness while pushing the launch button.

This is a powerful moment, because Jelena not only decides to die in her own terms, but also saves everyone in the process. "This is a good death," she told Alexei, calling on Kamala to protect the world, even if she was no longer part of it. The moment is bitter, as a victim of Jelena, while hard, robs us of an attractive character in a show where most people are killed in blinking their eye. Alexei's bow is also deeply tragic from this point onwards, while channeling his grief in the flu, but ends up paying an undeserved price in Asgard.

Jelena has suffered a complex, transformative arc into MCC so far (especially in the Thunderbaltes*), but its fate in Marvel Zombie points to unselfishness stemming from the real urge to save the world. In Alexei's words, the best way to respect the dead is to make sure they have not died in vain, which is the burden that Kamala may have to carry in the near future of the animated series.
