The drama in between It Ends With Us stars Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively shows no signs of stopping. In December 2024, the complex situation has escalated to the point where a legal complaint by Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassmentand Baldoni sued The New York Times for defamation over a December 21 article about the situation.

In this time of allegations and litigation, the situation is difficult to comment on, but even so, there is one person whose comments people would really like to hear. Since Lively's husband is one of Hollywood's biggest A-listers at the moment, it's no surprise that speculation about Ryan Reynolds' potential reactions to the situation is generating interest. But according to several Marvel fans, including X/Twitter user @spiritualshift_Reynolds actually already had his say... by basing a very specific character in Baldoni's Deadpool & Wolverine, no less:

"The more I learn about Nispool's character, the more obvious it becomes that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were mocking Justin Baldoni in Deadpool and Wolverine.

For readers who haven't seen the movie, Nispool (Reynolds, billed as his longtime alter ego Gordon Reynolds) is an affectionate and positive version of Deadpool whom the main Deadpool (also Reynolds) immediately despises. Nyspool makes comments about Lady Deadpool's (Alive) body and eventually gets used as a human shield before Deadpool reveals that she doesn't actually have any superpowers.

Social media users have pointed out numerous reasons why they suspect Nispool is a thinly veiled parody of Baldoni. They range from the spiritual and feminist beliefs the character expresses an outpouring where Nispool says, "My calling is to host a podcast that monetizes the women's movement." this, @spiritualshift_ claims, is a specific dig at Baldoni, who is outspoken about his own feminist beliefs and hosted a podcast called "Enough is Human" until the latest allegations were made public. The fact that one of the characters Nispool kills is none other than Lively's Lady Deadpool also gets a mention in this theory, as well as the fact that it takes place in front of a flower shop - a prominent location in It Ends With Us.

At this stage, of course, the theory that Nyspool could be a representation of Reynolds throwing shade at Baldoni is just one of many allegations in the complex situation surrounding Lively and Baldoni. In a Jan. 7 interview with Megyn Kelly, Baldoni's attorney, Brian Friedman, noted that he's aware of Nispool's theory, so there's a chance that's one aspect of the situation we'll hear more about in the future.
