The franchise "Yellowallstone" by Taylor Sheridan is a paramount jongernut, so it is only to expect the company's higher windows to try to replicate their success with other properties. At one point, former CEO Chris McCarthy even planned to illuminate several spin-offs "Dexter", just for the Paramount's merger with Skijans to confuse those plans.
Clyde Phillips, show -show of Canceled "Dexter: Original Sin" And other series that focus on the eponymous killer of the same name, opened up for this in an interview with the Dexter Dissection (through Pop):
"Yellowlston had a few prophecies to set it up. After "New Blood", the shot collected the story of Harrison and we wrote 10 scripts on Harrison, which was completely different from the place where it ended up in "Resurrection" because Dexter was not included. And then they gathered the "Trinity". We wrote 10 scripts on "Trinity". I mean, I live in the east coast.
"Dexter: The original sin" was canceled after one season, despite being initially restored for the second installment by Paramount and Showtime. "Trinity", meanwhile, was planned for a series of foretelling Arthur Mitchell of Johnon Litgov, aka Trinity killerA character who debuted in Dexter Season 4. That spin-off also seems to be dead in the water, but there may be some shiny hope for the franchise's future.
Dexter: Season 2 of the Resurrection goes forward
While plans for an expanded franchise are uncertain, "Dexter: Resurrection" seems to receive a second season. Clide Phillips confirmed that the plan is to start writing in the next installment later this year, with ordinary plans to start shooting in the spring of 2026, assuming that everything goes according to plan. That said, when one remembers that "Dexter: the original sin" has been canceled after being renewed, some fans may be concerned about the future of "Resurrection" (especially now that Discovery Paramount and Warner Bros. are in conversations about potential merger).
The good news, however, is that "Dexter: Resurrection" is a hit on the show, both commercially and critically. The premiere of Season 1 was a success story for the Network Record, and its 95% Rotten Tomates score is on the same level on the day of the original series. It remains to be seen whether a warm response to "Resurrection" will inspire Greenlight's paramount more extensions, foretells or spin-offs to the line (especially at a level similar to that of Constant expansion of Taylor Sheridan's Yellowallestone saga), but never say never, right? After all, if Dexter Morgan taught us something, it's that he can't be easily killed.
