Meghan Markle's 'Archetypes' podcast teased to return after hiatus

In a recent Instagram post, Lemonada Media, the company behind Meghan's podcast “Archetypes,” hinted at her return after a long hiatus.

Originally launched in August 2022, “Archetypes” aimed to expose the stereotypes and barriers women face.

However, the show's momentum has faded despite the initial impact of guests such as Serena Williams and Mariah Carey.

By June 2023, Spotify and Archewell Audio announced the end of their partnership, with reports pointing to creative differences and unmet content expectations.

In early 2024, Meghan signed a deal with Lemonada Media, and their latest social media post announcing “We're back!” suggests that her podcast could return along with other upcoming series.

"Archetypes" originally debuted as Spotify's #1 podcast in 47 countries, achieving massive success with around a million listens per episode.

However, tensions have emerged behind the scenes between Spotify and Sussex-based Archewell Audio, with some sources suggesting that Spotify expected more content than the pair produced.

In a joint statement, both parties confirmed their mutual decision to part ways, praising their cooperation.

However, tensions escalated when Spotify CEO Bill Simons, in a podcast episode, criticized Prince Harry and Meghan, calling them "fraudsters" and recounting a frustrating conversation with Prince Harry.

“Fucking crooks. It's a podcast we should have launched with them,” he said Daily Mail. “I have to get drunk one night and tell the Zoom story I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It's one of my best stories.”

He also expressed his disdain for Harry's continued presence in public, calling it "disgraceful" and claiming that Harry offers little of substance other than complaints about his royal life.
