Pedri wanted to help Barcelona return to form after a string of disappointing points.

Barcelona midfielder Pedri says he needs to bounce back after the club lost 1-0 at home to Leganes on Sunday.

Sergio Gonzalez's goal in the fourth minute left Barcelona without a win for the fifth time in the last 6 La Liga games.

In this unfortunate situation, Barcelona managed to collect only 5 points from a possible 18 points, which allowed their lead at the top of the table to slip.

They are now tied on points with Atletico Madrid, who face them next weekend, and are just one point ahead of Real Madrid. Both Madrid clubs still have a game in hand.

"It was a bad game, it's impossible to be happy," Pedri said after the game. I think we started the game half asleep. We got up and created chances, but we didn't have the spark we needed to score.

If we want to get points, we have to be better in front of goal. We are on a bad run in the league, and we have to turn it around.

We've had a lot of games in a row, but that's no excuse. We have to end the confidence we showed in the Champions League.

"You can't win in football if you don't score."

Barcelona controlled the ball early in the game, but Leganes goalkeeper Marko Dimitrovic failed to take advantage of them.

The Blaugrana have scored more than 20 goals, with Robert Lewandowski taking six and scoring an estimated individual (xG) figure of 1.65.

After Hansi Flick was suspended, assistant coach Markus Sorg took charge on the sidelines. S

After the match, a towering Sorg admitted that a young Barcelona side will have to adapt to the highs and lows of the season.

"It's very difficult in La Liga, and at the moment we struggle in games," said Sorg.

"Today, especially in the first 10 minutes, we weren't as focused as we usually are or sometimes in the Champions League.

"We conceded a goal and then the team tried everything to score a goal. We created a lot of chances - 21, five and six are pretty good - and that's the problem. We have to learn from this and the players have to get used to playing every three or four days.

"Obviously we are not happy with the form at the moment. But you have to accept that sometimes when you build a team there are ups and downs.

Lamin Yamal appeared to injure his ankle in the first half, including Barcelona's worries, but continued to play until late in the second half.

The young star is scheduled to undergo tests on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
