An actress Zoe Saldana is still reeling from the excitement of winning her first Golden Globe and took to her Instagram page to share her feelings.

Saldana won Best Supporting Actress and gave an emotional acceptance speech on Sunday.

The actress' friends and fans took turns to congratulate her on her incredible success.

Winning a Golden Globe is no mean feat. Saldana joined the list of actors and actresses with a gold plaque in her cabinet on Sunday and couldn't hide her joy afterward.

A day after her first Golden Globe win, Saldana celebrated with her fans on Instagram.

She shared two pictures of herself enjoying a beautiful moment. In the first clip, a smiling Saldana was on a bed looking down with a gold plaque next to her.

In another photo, a cheerful Saldana looked surprised and opened her mouth wide in excitement while still on the bed.

Saldana's post sparked a wave of comments from her friends and fans.

Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez applauded Saldana and commented, "Congratulations Zoe."

Cassie Russek added: "Most deserving in the room. Congratulations Zoe. What a whirlwind! Let the awards season really begin."

Actress and author Kellee Stewart wrote: "Sincere congratulations my friend!! You are the DREAM!!!"

Michael B. Jordan commented with five flaming emojis, while actress Jill Wagner added: "Atta girl."

One fan called Saldana "THE GOAT," while another described her as an "ICON." A third fan added: "Congratulations!!! Well deserved."

Zoe Saldana's emotional acceptance speech

Saldana won her first Golden Globe for her outstanding portrayal of Rita Mora Castro in the musical thriller "Emilia Perez."

She beat out other nominees including her friend Selena Gomez"Wicked" actress Ariana Grande, "The Brutalist" star Felicity Jones, "The Substance" actress Margaret Qualley and "Conclave" actress Isabella Rossellini to win the award.

After Saldana was announced as the winner, she took the stage and gave a tearful speech in which she thanked her co-stars, the other nominees and her family.

"This is my first time," the actress noticed before acknowledging the other cast members and nominees. She also said she was "blessed to share this moment" with them.

Saldana told the audience that she was "full of adrenaline" while her heart was "full of gratitude".

She added: "My family, my mum is here, my sister, my husband and my sons. I love you, I love you. You are everything."

The 46-year-old, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for the first time, also thanked "Emilia Perez" director Jacques Audiard for "trusting" her to "play Rita."

The cast members of "Emilia Perez" built a strong bond during filming that continued after the film's premiere.

During the conversation with People Sep 30, 2024 Zoe Saldana shared details about their close relationship.

She said: "It's wonderful. To this day, there's so much love, so much respect. We're rooting for each other. We're happy for each other. We fix each other's makeup and wardrobe."

Saldana revealed that the cast was excited to work on the project and were "kind of childlike" when filming the movie.

The "Guardians of the Galaxy" actress also shared that attending the premieres together allowed the cast to "still keep that joy because we knew we signed up for something special."

She concluded: "We knew what it meant to us. And knowing that it's becoming something special for so many people has an impact. It's really impactful. So I think it reconnects us."

"Emilia Perez" won the big prize at the Golden Globes

"Emilia Perez," a crime original on Netflix, was the most nominated film at the Golden Globes, eventually winning four awards at the end of the night.

In addition to Zoe Saldana's award for Best Supporting Actress, "Emilia Perez" won Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Original Song and Best Foreign Language Film.

The film is about a Mexican cartel leader, played by Karla Sofia Gascon, who hires a lawyer (Saldana) to help her disappear in order to fulfill her dream of transitioning into a woman.
