The first season of "Murder in the Building" remains one of the most common things I've ever seen. Created by Steve Martin and Johnon Hoffman, the series smartly paired longtime friends and associates Martin and Martin Fort with sardonics, Deadpan Selena Gomez as three correct podcasts for crime living in A luxury building in Newoujork, Arconiait is the home of way Too many killings. Gomez, Martin and Short make a wonderful main trio, which teamed up to solve the murder of Tim Conno (Jululian Fihi). I am not the first person to point out that, with every season of "only killings", the returns have diminished ... They have diminished somewhat, but I say "something" because it is still a pretty pleasant and often funny comedy starring three really good actors.

These actors are still good at the fifth season of "Just Murder in the Building", which crosses its first three episodes of Julu on September 9 - but I'm sad to say they are turning their wheels into the show that feels like it fade. After last year's mystery of murder, which focused on the death of former Charles Haden-Savage (Martin), a former trick Pataki (Janee Lynch), Mabel, Charles and Oliver And The hosts of the podcast after Arconia's longtime Leicester Coluka (Teddy Coluka) were found dead in the building's building fountain.

Though his death is officially declared an accident, Lester's Death Raises Some Questions for Mabel, Charles, and Oliver, Who Start Investigating As Meet Lester's Widow Lorraine (Dianne Wiest) Body turns up and it's deceased Mobster Nicky Caccimelio (Bobby Cannavale), it makes the trio curiious about his wife sofia's (téa leoni) Request to track nicky down in the final of the season 4. Murders "on paper, so how does it go in practice?

Since the first season of "Only the Murders in the Building" they have become a hit, Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, Martin Fort and the forces on Julu have urged all their super famous friends to appear in different seasons. Meryl Streep is the most obvious example here, after she joined as a special guest star in Season 3, and it's not fair for me to tell her Oscar -winner Dairi Oyoj Randolph as another piece of cascade as she is actually part of the show since its inception (Randolph, who plays Herari Newujork Detective Donna Williams, won the 2023 Holdovers Academy Award). In addition to Comic and one of her contemporaries, Diane Wist, Season 5 of "Only Murder in the Building" adds a series of killer celebrities: most importantly, Renee Zellweger, Christoph Waltz and Logan Lerman in the mix. (If you keep counting, by, it makes four Oscar winners so far when you turn on Zellweger and Waltz.)

Waltz plays AI "Expert" Bash Big, which is said to "own the Internet", does not eat after 11am and has a farmer's farm that provides him with plasma for infusions. (Waltz's surprising smooth face gives jokes about how no one can understand how old he is.) Camilla of Zelweger, Camilla White is an interior decorator with a surprisingly evil edge, while Lerman's Jayej Pitlug is the successor to the suspicious "Fout". This inverted and potentially evil trio, which seems to know more about Leicester and Nicky than they should, easily move away against Mabel, Charles and Oliver, even cleverly capturing them with a plot twist that involves owning their podcast, but just like Eugene Levi-Zac Galifianakis-Yeva Longoria Ferberus in Season 4It just feels like the show is ... showing cold stories instead of appearing.

I do not think to say that these three deployed guest stars do not have their moments. Honestly, one of the funniest side quests in the whole season is when the gang visits Bash's house, just to meet his bizarre and seemingly haunted children who do things like Wittl and stand in empty pools (before all the superhurts of the cast play a bunch of more riots). Beanie Feldstein is also a new acting article for Season 5, and as her character of the pop -starvar, - short for her real name, Altea - she is a real pleasure, tormented her former best friend Mabel with her wealth and influence at every step. A few other great actors in the characters appear throughout the season, and I will not spoil who here, but it's pretty fun. My biggest misconduct for Season 5 of "Only Murder in the Building" are not his performances, which are uniform good; That is the material given by the actors.

The biggest trap of season 5 of "Only Murder in the Building" is, frustrating, her scenario. I care that the series carries notes from the Netflix movies and uses his dialogue to allow the characters to indicate exactly what they do as they do; Mabel, Charles and Oliver are almost looking at almost Everyone Plot Point, and turning Steve Martin, Martin Fort and Selena Gomez into exhibition machines, just feel disrespect. The central mystery is decent, but is undermined by clumsy dialogue and sincerely stupid conspiracy lines like Arconia resident Howard (regular Michael Cyril Kirilton), introducing a robotic domain into the building that Named Leicester and Leicester. It is frustrating, because the show has gathered Such Great team, and Martin, Short and Gomez are certainly great performers with crunchy chemistry. It just feels ... wasted, somehow.

Again, I want to point out this - even the most sincere and saturated moments of "only killing in the building", even five seasons in, are still charming, and a few jokes have received original jackals from me through the nine episodes given to critics. However, I am worried about the future of this show, because it really just turns its wheels at this point. If you asked me when this show would start, I would probably tell you that I would see Gomez, Martin and read the phone book if they paired together. Now? I'm not even sure I want to watch the whole season to solve the mysteries if the script will not allow them to shine ... and believe the audience to pay attention to the process. After Season 5, I hope Mabel, Oliver and Charles move away from Arconia, and we, as a society for watching televisions, continue and remember the series with a particular nessub.
