Austin Butler wears Starvara Charisma in this entertaining criminal caper

"Caught stealing" is a good movie. Not a modern classic for which we should be hyperbolic; Just a good movie. At another time, it might have felt a little less special than it is currently. In 2025, we are still in this cycle where almost everything must be a franchise, or thrown into streaming where it will disappear into the abyss.

In this way, an adult film with a nice catch than a great director feels more appropriate than before. This kind of work was not rare, it was the norm. But now that is rarely and, as a result, the latest feels specifically on Darren Aronofsky, even if it is not Some kind of permanent masterpiece as "Requiem for Dream" or any of the director's other films. Instead, he teamed up with Austin Butler and writer Charlie Huston to deliver a damn good time for movies, ordinary and simple.

The film focuses on Hank Thompson (Butler), a former phenomenon in high school baseball, which can no longer play, now works as a bartender in Newouper, enjoying his new relationship with Yvonne (Zoe Kravitz). When his punk rock neighbor Rus (Matt Smith) asks him to take care of his cat for a few days, Hank inadvertently finds himself caught in the middle of several different groups of gangsters. Hank's simple life is then transferred to chaos while mixing it with criminals and trying to keep out of prison.

"Caught Stealing" is based on a book of the same name by Huston. He was clearly the right person to adjust his book on the screen, because the story did not waste time. The characters are easy for Loveub (or hatred), it is good and engaged in jump. It is also extremely clear.

Darren Aronofsky enters his inner boyfriend Richie

That's not to say that there are no twists and turns on the road - this is a crime caper. Only the movie Sony was selling to us through the trailers is the movie that has been delivered. Would you like to see Austin Butler running through the newuork while trying to escape some bad things? Do you want to see great actors who get a chance to shine in roles in the immediate vicinity? That's what you get. We have become so accustomed to deceived or clever marketing that something that is clearly awkward. There are no tricks here. It's fun, incredibly stressful and at times a very sexy crime.

Those who are familiar with the work of Aronofsky have a certain expectation. Be it a lasting intensity of the "black swan" or the bold madness of "Mother!" Often there is seriousness of his films. He is not a very purifier of cinema -Poaks. Getting out of the Oscar winner "Keith", Aronofsky decided to do something very different and show us a side of him that we haven't seen before. This side of it is fun. That's vibrant. It's a lot of fun.

If his name was not on the poster, someone would be under pressure from "PEG" caught "as an aronophic wrist. It is a reminder that it contains a multitude of and aronophic, creatively, is no exception. This It feels closer to Guy Richie's early films like "Snatch" More than one of the previous works of Aronofsky. It is somehow extraordinary to see a guy this late in his career as flexing such a different muscle so confident.

Not to seem to have no drama in the film because it has absolutely. Hank goes through it and because the audience comes to take care of him, his fights hit home. But although there is a healthy dose of dramatic tension, this feels like aronofsky having fun once. No one would accuse the "wrestler" of being fun. This movie is a lot of things, and the party is one of them.

Austin Butler leads ensemble perfect ensemble in caught theft

Film like this does not have many fancy special effects to hide behind. Lives and dies of characters. Aronofsky managed to collect a funny great ensemble that carries the film, led by Butler, The guy who went to Elvis; An actor who goes extra hard and above the top when the situation is looking for it. In "caught theft", Butler devotes himself to the role of Hank admiring, perfectly embodying an ordinary person who happens to him some outstanding things. They carry a little on the ground to the very charming, at times a tragic way. There is the quality of the Butler Starwar and it is almost impossible to imagine someone else in this role. But the "caught theft" is really an ensemble piece and all the chess pieces on the board are wonderful.

Zoe Kravitz continues to claim himself as an attractive scene, which plays perfectly from Hank's stubbornness. As a couple, they sing. Vincent D'Onofrio and Liev Sreiber are especially fun because Jewish gangsters Shsuli and Lipa - It's hard to recall these two actors sometimes have fun on the screen. One of the biggest surprises is the musical supermitwire Bad Bani as a tough man Colorado who is an absolute explosion for watching. It's not a trick casting. Not to mention Matt Smith, which many of us know from "Doctor Who", " Walking a complete drug connection, punk-rocker in the type of type, which is preferred.

For as good as there is a "caught theft", there is never the moment when it somehow rises well - but hey, that's good. It's just good and stays well until the loans are rolling, which is more than enough. Not every new movie should be an event. Sometimes, you just want to see a beautiful man, try to get out of trouble while caring for order, soft cat. We could use more modern films as "caught theft".
