We are halfway through "Alien: Earth" Season 1, and so far, I have been doing well. The design of production is fantastic, scientific stories They are really interesting, and there are a ton of great performances through the cast. But one thing is constantly pushing me in the middle of the season and does not improve.

I'm talking about that naked cartoon character, boy Cavalier.

Now, to be clear, I'm not coming for Actor Behind the character, Samuel Blenkin. This is a kind of role that is so bizarre, I can only imagine that the actor is doing exactly as it is said. Blenkin manages strange mannerisms, children's outbursts and everywhere weird, like he can, but the question here is the way the character is written, directed and positioned in the series.

It's not just his obsession with Peter Pan, or the fact that he only once carries pajamas, or his complex of incessant superiority, or the fact that we really do not understand how old he is, or his first draft motivation of ""All So Bored"But yes, it is all, and others. I waited for him to discover a new dimension that does all that, and in the meantime, I tried to do my best to give the show Noah Holly benefit from doubt and to find a way to withdraw from these characters.

But in that mission, I failed. And I'm tired of seeing this little man in otherwise a great show.

I promise I don't only hate fun or weird. I am kind like other bizarre elections of "Alien: Country", like the endless crosses (sometimes three Suddenly), or the obsession of the SP with baseball games played more than 100 years ago, or the fact that he and his sister's main joint Love, Ah, The fourth film "Ice Age"? It's confusing, yes, but also a kind of charming - a kind of answer that I imagine I should also have to have Kavalier's boyfriend.

The problem is that unlike those other things that are more to taste, the so -called Genius Genius character is a mass piece of the story. We have been told that his company Prodigy is one of the top five corporations that functionally govern the whole country, but we are also told that it is young abstaining. It seems impossible that approximately one fifth of the world could fall under the control of this man. Boy? A teenager? It is never clear how old he is. We see entire cities and mass corporate infrastructure under his control, including long -term corporate contracts with characters that seem to be older than Kavalier. How does that time frame make sense? For me, no. Maybe you took something I missed.

It would all be good and good if something we got from this strange character, rather than a more traditional villain of scientific-fi, was interesting or significant. But I just don't feel like it.

I don't have to love the whole analogy of Peter Pan passing through "Alien: Earth", but I like that Noah Holly took a big thematic swing. What I don't think is that the Kavalier guy was necessary to do it all. You can have your Neidel facility, your lost boys, Wendy, all as corporate names for their malicious scientific projects. Did we really need the CEO to be a fairy tale character too to do it all?

This becomes particularly frustrating in episode 4 when Boy Cavalier has a video call with CEO of the Wayland-Schutan Corporation to negotiate who will keep foreign samples of her crash on the ship. Sandra's Sandri Sensindiver's Jutani is an accurate kind of elevated, but a grounded villain for science that you would expect from this kind of story, and she looks so weirdly positioned opposite billionaire pajamas Sam. The fact that she treats it with all kinds of respect as equivalent is wild, given that he does not demonstrate any behavior at any other point in the show to earn the same loan from us.

We are told that he is a genius, but science in his laboratories Else scientists. He says no one else is at his level, but everyone else is more interesting with the simple virtue not to be completely unbearable. I really believe that you could throw any middle -aged actor in this role, he was a little copied, and the rest of the show would be completely the same, absent disturbing Cavalier's intertwining. And as a writer, I Hate Being that recipe, but what can I say? I just humiliate this guy king so much.
