The alleged war is emerging ahead of the Golden Globes
According to Page Sixa bitter war rages between the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA)—the organization that founded the iconic awards show nearly 80 years ago—and its new owners, Eldridge Industries, led by Chelsea FC owner Todd Boehly.

The split that caused an argument
Founded in 1943 as a non-profit organization by international entertainment journalists, the HFPA launched the Golden Globes a year later, eventually turning it into one of Hollywood's most prestigious awards. However, two years ago, Eldridge Industries restructured the organization, splitting it into two entities: a for-profit arm responsible for running the Golden Globes and a non-profit arm that ran the HFPA's charitable functions.

As part of the restructuring deal, HFPA's 66 "legacy members" were reportedly promised annual salaries of $75,000 for five years, health insurance, lifetime Globes voting rights and other benefits. Members also claim they were promised four tickets each to the annual event. However, Eldridge sources dispute this, saying the tickets were never part of the deal. According to the articles of the HFPA, the ticket clause is included in an addendum, separate from the main terms.

Raised and prohibited from entering the ballroom
The situation escalated when 11 paid legacy members were abruptly removed from their roles, sparking unrest within the HFPA ranks. Now many of those remaining members feel alienated from their own creation.
In previous years, HFPA members have enjoyed prime seating in the Beverly Hilton ballroom alongside Hollywood's biggest stars. This year, however, sources claim that approximately 50 members received invitations - on Friday, just one day before the event - to attend a "viewing party" in a special function room at the hotel. Essentially, these founding members will be watching the great affair on television screens, not experiencing it first hand.

A party without its founders?
The sudden and limited invitation only deepened the divide, leaving legacy members feeling like outsiders at the event they helped build. What was once a symbol of the HFPA's prestige and influence now appears to have become a blatant representation of a power struggle and corporate restructuring gone awry.
As the cameras roll on Sunday and the stars dazzle on stage, the real drama may not take place in the ballroom – but in the tensions simmering behind closed doors. One thing is certain: the consequences of this Hollywood power struggle will not fade when the credits roll.
Nikki Glaser will host the Golden Globes
After last year's Housewife debacle with comedian Jo Koya, which left many viewers wondering if the show should even have a host in the future, the Golden Globes are heading in a new direction. This year, the stand-up comedian was nominated for an Emmy Nikki Glaser will take center stage as master of ceremonies.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes," she said in a statement, per Vogue. “This is one of my favorite nights of television and now I'm getting a front row seat. The Golden Globes isn't just a big night for TV and film, it's also a big night for comedy. It's one of the rare cases that show business not only allows, but encourages, to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope). (God, I hope so.)"

"It's an exciting but challenging gig because it's live, unpredictable and in front of Hollywood's biggest stars (who might also be lost sitting next to their recent exes)," she continued. "Some of my favorite jokes of all time come from past Golden Globes opening monologues when Tina, Amy, or Ricky said exactly what we all didn't know we desperately needed to hear. I just hope to carry on that time honored tradition (that would I could have been fired. This is truly a dream job."
