Ryan Garcia has bequeathed $7.5 million to Devin Haney and his father, Bill. This is in response to Haney suing Ryan for battery, fraud, and breach of contract.
$7.5M refund claim filed
According to @pugboxing, Ryan's lawsuit alleges that Haney is trying to fight Kingry hard and hurt him financially.
Former WBC welterweight champion Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) has been challenging Garcia due to his positive test for the PED Ostarine since their April 20th fight, where Ryan won the 12-round decision mostly.
If Haney's lawsuit is successful and he gets a payout, it could change the sport for future fighters who get tested.
Dreaming of Competition Again?
On the down side, Haney's conviction could prevent him from re-matching Garcia, which could make more money than his injuries. Additionally, the negative reaction from fans to Haney's decision to accuse Ryan did not bode well for his career. Devin appeared to argue.
