One of the best (but most neglected) 21st century films is finally on 4K

Have you heard the news? The oceans are now combat fields! Or so, the initial text of the epic "Master and Commander of Peter Weir in 2003 tells us, tells us. That's the type of phrase that made many films (this writer included) mumbling" hell to "under their breath. Weir's film, adapted from the series of books by Patrick O'Brian, is loved by Cinefiles. They even collected an impressive 10 nominations for the Academy Award. But ... it was a failure in the box office. As such, those who hold a "master and commander" dear to their hearts have passed decades of arguing for a sequel that adapts more O'Brian books. In 2021, Broke the word that the foreteller was in the works - but except a A short project update Last year, it seems unlikely that this potential film will ever float. Maybe we should be happy with just one movie.

And maybe that's fine, because a movie we have is almost perfect. Now, it's finally available at 4K for the first time. According to a press release, "newly renewed and reworked from the original elements, this stunning 4K release is presented with the Dolby Vision HDR and ATMOS, delivering a stunning image and immersion of the sound that offers fans definitely watching the Homes of Renowned."

This was great news for me, as for all these years, I only had a DVD -Copy of "master and commander". Of course, it was a DVD -Copy loaded with special features, but finally being able to have the film in celebrity 4K is a blessing.

Master and commander is a masterpiece -do

"Master and Commander" adjusts the 10th entrance to the "O'Brien" series "Aubrey -Maturin", sea adventures containing 20 finished books, and one author did not end before his death. I will admit that I have never read any of these books. Maybe I will one day, when I'm a little older and have a comfortable hand chair to sit down. For now, I will make duty with the film, which while technically The historic military epic is more similar to a hanging movie for the guys to be dudes.

Of course, there are action and intrigue on the open sea In "Master and Commander", but that's not what the film's fans excites. No, what makes the film special is the friendship between the two main characters: Russell Crowe's captain Jackec Aubrey and the surgeon and the man of Paul Bethany's science, Steven Maturin. These two men are quite different in temperament, and yet their relationship is the type that inspires the ships of fanfiction. We want to spend time with these guys, and they want to spend time with each other.

While the action is happening here, Weir's film is in no hurry to reach a great adventure. Instead, he moves carefully through his 138 duration and gives us a real sense of how he must live from day to day at sea. The characters here all feel authentic and original in almost disarming ways. "Master and Commander" is the type of film that feels like it can only stretch forever, never bother you in the process. I am disappointed that we never got another movie, but I am happy to finally have this one at 4K.
