Earlier this week, Universal Pictures and Dreamworks Animation announced that their much -expected "Shrek 5" was delayed once again, this time until the summer of 2027. This delay comes several months after the first look of appearance, In which we were united by Shrek (Mike Meyers), Donkey (Eddie Murphy), Fiona (Cameron Diaz), Magic Mirror (Chris Miller) and Pinocchio (Codi Cameron) for the first time in approximately 15 years. Most importantly, we met the daughter of Shrek and Fiona, Felicia (Zendaya), who last saw him as a newborn and is now a teenager. As for this writing, the place where the brothers of Felicia, Fark and Fergus (as well as who ends to express them) are hidden away, away.

Critics and audiences were also thrilled and surprised by Puss in Boots: The last wish "in 2022. The film, which hit theaters 11 years after its predecessor, was a refreshing return to the DreamWorks Animation Fairy Tales, With his energy animation he brought his beloved characters to a new life. Now that Shrek 5 is delayed for the second time, this may allow the animation of DreamWorks to fix a big question.

While some were excited to be reunited with shrek, donkey, and fiona, many others are not pleased with DreamWorks Animation's New Designs for Its Most Famous Trio, With Some Criticisms Expressing Things The Characters Feelelel. Cleaner and polished, similar to that of walt disney animation studios' Modern Character Designs Rather Than the Earnest, Rough-Around-The-Edge vibe that the original "Shrek" Movies evoked. This is ironic due to the fact that much of the Shrek spirit is how it sends Disney fairytown trops, so to redesign the characters in a way that looks similar to Disney's recent exit is an unusual choice.

Of course, the expectation is that designs for loved characters who have not been seen for more than a decade will be updated to reflect the progress of modern technology - do not look beyond what Pixar has done with his extensions about the "story of the toys" and "incredible" to get their loved ones. To be fair, "Shrek 5" has a legitimate reason for updating designs, as, unlike most of Pixar's sequels, this upcoming film will have a jump in time that closely reflects the "Shrek Forever Gap", which will be an incredible 17 years, while " Shrek, donkey and Fiona are now parents of middle -aged, probably dealing with typical heights and teens of teenagers. Time and stress will naturally grow old at all, giving sense to our beloved characters a different look. However, unless this new film plans to follow the bold style of animation that "Puss in Boots: The last wish" is shown, such updated designs should be compatible and cohesive with what original films have established.

If the DreamWorks animation was to update the current designs of "Shrek 5" characters, it would be similar to what happened to the first movie "Sonic the Hedgehog". The original release date of that film was November 8, 2019, but after the first trailer fell in April 2019, the design of the title was the subject of an intensive reaction. The negative reaction was so massive that Paramount Pictures postponed the film on February 14, 2020, to allow animators to redesign the character to reflect closer to its similarity, as seen in video games. The "Ugly Sonic" design was so infamous, it was shown in the 2022 "Chip" film "Chip" N Dale: Rescue Rescue as its character.

While the design of the "Shrek 5" characters may not be subject to the same level of viral control as the initial design "Sonic the hedgehog", this second delay can allow the animators to return the film very good and perhaps correct the negative initial reactions to the first appearance. While the renewal and modification of designs for cohesive to reflect the original characters is a good call, here we hope that the script for this long -awaited sequel is valuable and honored the subversive heritage that founded the original film at the Academy.

"Shrek 5" will now hit theaters on June 30, 2027.
