The franchise "alien" Jumped around in time so much that it can be difficult to follow. The first four films in the series, from the original of Ridley Scott through "Alien Resurrection", follow a linear timetable and span for about 260 years, with meat of that time between the beginning of the "Resurrection" and the end of "APHUN 3." Alien is held in 2122, "aliens" take place nearly 60 years later in 2179, after Ellen Ripley (confident Waver) passes for decades, entering the space in Krioski's sleep, and "Alien 3" is essentially "aliens". Then, there is a 200-year-old "Resurrection" jump in 2379.

After that, however, everything becomes a little harder to follow.

The next film released in the series (not counting the films "Alien vs. Predator", which are stated in 2004) is "Prometheus", which takes place 33 years before the original film in 2089. After that, Ridley Scott's covenant, which was set in 2104 and "Alien: Romulus" by Fedi Alvarez. which takes place between "alien" and "aliens" in 2142.

It brings us to the new FX series "Alien: Earth", which is set around the same time as the original "Alien", but in a very different angle to the universe, as you can say by the name. According to the beginning of the first episode, the show was held in 2120, just two years before the Nostromo tragedy in Alien. However, the play also explains that we are catching a boat returning to Earth after a 65-year mission, which means that the ship in question will leave the country in just 2055-decades before the Prometheus expedition.

That's the case - the new series full of cryos sleeping, Androids, cyborgs, digital brain transfers and foreign life forms is set less than 100 years in the future. Such was the way things still in the late 1970s when Ridley Scott made the first "alien". The 22nd century seemed light years away, and the beginning of the Proto Digital Age led to unlimited opportunities for what the near future could look like. Scott took another vision for that future in his next 1982 film "Alien", "Blade Runner", which, along with William Gibson's seminal novel, is credited with creating the same year for creating The cyberpunk genre.

Although many other "foreign" movies take place around the same point in the timeline as "Alien: Earth", they usually take place on industrial ships, blooming colonies or harsh foreign planets. It has been the model from the beginning - the one that has a lot of sense for a horror film franchise. But with the extra time allocated to a large budget TV series, "Earth" also gives us advanced corporate research laboratories, crowded urban residential areas and glossy futuristic towers in the city of Newu Siam.

It all feels more "Blade Runner" than "Alien" at times, though given Scott's role in both franchises, it is not completely undesirable. The corporate oligarchy of the Alien Universe has been part of it since the dark companies secrets of the original film. "Earth" finally shows us more details about that dynamics of power in the early 22th century and as companies like Wayland-Schiutani have achieved so much power.

It is likely that "Alien: Earth" was so close to the original "Alien" of the timeline partly, so the show can justify recreating very specific technologies from that film. The first 10 minutes of the first episode were won for Bit taken since the beginning of the film in 1979, with the perfect image of cryo leaks, mother chamber, Messi Hall and other aspects of the Wayland-School. Even the hairstyles of the characters reflect the late 1970s -or, I should say, the early 2120s. However, there is a certain confusion here, as the 2055 mission launches in the "Earth" would have been long before the launch of the Alien mission. These ships look identical, but they would go into space decades. Even with little space for Easter eggs, chronology is a little confusing.

Films such as "Covenant" and "Foreigners" are investigating efforts on this point in the timeframe for establishing colonies of other sustainable planets, although the risks are rarely considered entirely of appropriate corporate sponsors. As we see more than the country itself in the new show, it can become clear why people would be ready to volunteer for these full, decades -long missions. The idea of a planet probably reduces the natural resources where several corporations possess everything, however, is enough to imagine the rest of the economic situation and does not sound great.

Also worth noting The events of "Prometheus" and "Alien: Testament" Given their relative recession in the story of "Alien: Earth". In the first of those films, the Wayland Corporation has yet to become Wayland-Jutani, and the leader of the corporate/cult Peter Wayland has almost religious obsession with foreign life. The interest of the Corporation for Samples in "Earth" seems to be more capitalist, with a clear angle of bioapons, but we have not been removed from Scott's last few films, where things were very, very foreign. The union of Wayland-Yutani can also shift the intention behind some of these secret projects. Now, it's all a little vague because the show is filled on the sidelines.
