Fedotovsky, 40, explained on the Monday, Dec. 23, episode of Caitlin Bristowof "Off the Vine" The podcast that he was "extremely sick" while hosting a travel show called First Look and eating different foods. While at an event for bachelor In New York, Fedotowsky began discussing his struggles with Allemand.
“I tell him how I feel, he's like, 'You should try being a pescatarian. I've been a pester for years. I feel very good.' Which means, like, eating only fish and stuff. I was like, 'OK,'" Fedotowski said. "And so we have this dinner, and then, like, 10 days later, he dies."
After appearing Jake Pavelkaof Season 14 is on bachelor Along with Fedotowski in 2010, Allemand died by suicide in 2013 at the age of 29.
"After that, I thought, 'Oh, I'm going to be Pesteria for two weeks,' like that dinner we had," Fedotowski said. "And when that happened, every time I went to bite the meat, or think about it, I couldn't, because I thought about gear."
Fedotovsky continued, "I haven't eaten a single piece of meat since that dinner I had with him, like 14 years, 13 years ago, and I've been a vegetarian ever since."
D Former bachelorette explained that he had "not really told that story completely" until now. "I've mentioned it briefly in an Instagram story here or there, as I said, but that's the reason to this day," he said.
Fedotowsky, who went on to marry Kevin Mano In 2017, explained that her husband also cut meat from his diet. (Fedotowski and Manno, 41, share girl Molly, 8, and son Riley, 6.)
"My husband, he was a total meat eater when I met him, and then we watched some documentaries and at that point he went straight to vegetarian," she said. "Now, he doesn't, because we live in the south and it's hard to find stuff."
While recalling his friendship with Allemand, Fedotowski explained that the two reconnected after the show.
"Actually we are a little ahead bachelorBut then came back together after something that even says more about the kind of person he is," Fedotowski said, calling Allemand "very nice."
