Directed by Ben Affleck's career, he primarily included him to work within the crime and thriller genres, but some previous projects that have never been materialized will expand his repertoire. After being thrown as a "dark knight" in the DC universe, Affleck was scheduled to direct a film "Batman", but he worshiped the superhero tremor instead of focusing on playing Batman. That, he said, his obligations to play Gotham's "captain", also forbidden Affleck to encourage an adaptation of a large screen of Steven King's novel "Stand" to Warner Bros., allowing him to dip his directorial fingers in the field of fantasy.
"Stand" is a widespread, ambitious, post-apocalyptic horror story set in the United States after a deadly pandemic. The chaos begins after the patient escapes from the military building, which eventually spreads and erases most of the population. With the society of the edge of a total collapse, mother Abigail-108-year-old woman-and her followers tried to restore peace, law and order. However, she faces competition from Randall Flagg, a demonic wizard who inspires her followers to turn to the dark side. This is how the ultimate battle between good and evil for the soul of mankind begins.
Affleck once compared his planned adaptation to the "stand" with "Lord of the Rings", suggesting that his goal is to direct an epic EP at the same time as Chinese treatment of Peter Acksecson on the desired fantasy of Jrr Tolkien. Unfortunately, getting the script caused some headaches behind the scenes, and the "stand" became something else after Affleck split in ways with the project.
The stand eventually became triggered minisers
Many consider the "stand" one of the best novels of fantasy of all time, but condensing it for the screen proved to be a difficult task for the directors. When Ben Affleck left the planned film adaptation, Scott Cooper stepped up to replace him at the forefront, only in some ways after Warner Bros. decided to adjust the novel as the only function. Like Affleck in front of him, Cooper felt that the frightening fantasy EP deserves to be widespread in many films and given the same treatment as the "Lord of the Rings", but the studio seems to disagree with the idea.
After years of development, the "stand" eventually turned into miniser in 2020 allowed Steven King to correct great regret from his book. Unfortunately, the adaptation of "Paramount+" received mixed examinations and probably felt compared to much better obtained Mick Garis miniatures in 1994, they took over the story. However, it may turn out differently if the project approaches as an ambitious, multi-film Chinese franchise, despite miniseries that failed to capture the volume and quality of its original material.
The good news is, however, that Hollywood did not give up the modern adaptation of the "stand" which I hope will get King's story properly. Doug Liman is currently committed to Helm's large screen for Paramount Pictures, with the project allegedly considering a studio priority. Let's hope they approach her with the scale and the omf that the story deserves, as the "stand" has the potential to create some films for epic events "Lothe".
