Part of the magic of the "Foundation" is how to reheat the work of Asimov, changing the stories to explore the ideas of show-original, while still covering the same overall plot points of the original books. The show is great for both Asimov's and newcomers fans, because even if you know which characters should be, or how every new crisis should be resolved, the show manages to find a way to undermine those assumptions and deliver many surprises.
