Custody drama in between Jesse Williams and his ex-wife, Aryn Drake-Leecontinues with the order of the court to resolve the disagreements.
The "Grey's Anatomy" star and his former lover have been battling it out in court for years, before and after they settled for divorce in 2019. The actor argued for equal time with their two children, accusing his ex of causing problems.
Jesse Williams' efforts to reach a better child custody agreement with Erin Drake-Lee began in September when he begged the court to ease his concerns. However, his ex-wife countered by asking him to reject his request, claiming that he tried to force her to accept his demands.

According to legal documents, the court ordered Williams and Drake-Lee to resolve their differences through meditation. They were told to come to an agreement on child custody on their own or appear by video conference on March 10, 2025.
The exes share two children, a daughter named Sadie and a son named Maceo. Williams and Drake-Lee had previously agreed on a custody arrangement that involved the children spending two overnight visits with the actor while school was in session. However, he was unhappy with the deal.
In September, the TV personality presented his grievances in a lengthy statement to the court, stressing that he needed more time with his children.

He explained that he tried to make the old system work by getting close to his ex-wife. However, according to In Touchthe number of transitions was "unnecessarily challenging" for children.

The entertainer requested 50/50 custody
In addition to the custody arrangement being a hassle for the children, Williams noted that it led to "unnecessary interaction" between him and Drake-Lee. To resolve these issues, he sought 50/50 custody, arguing that he deserved to spend equal time with the children. in his words:
"The kids and I are crazy about each other and have a deep, active and close-knit relationship. absolutely there is no reason why Aryn should have more time to take care of the children than I do."
Another reason he wanted to modify the child custody arrangement was his ex-wife's new boyfriend. Williams explained that she told him about her lover in April, revealing that he had met their children and was going to add him to the school's list.

The film producer requested information about the new boyfriend
Williams pleaded with the court to compel Drake-Lee to tell all about her new boyfriend, noting that she refused to answer his questions. "I'm not interested in Arina's personal life; I'm concerned about the safety of my children," he explained.
"They are too young to have phones and I should have his contact information/other information required by the judgment," Williams argued. However, his ex-wife rejected his request, claiming it was "out of bounds" because he was asking for additional information that was not ordered.
Drake-Lee noted that she wasn't obligated to give him any information when he didn't share details about his personal life. As for their child custody arrangement, she claimed that the film producer enjoyed threatening her with legal action, and her allegations read:

"(Jesse) uses his lawyers to harass (Aryn), regularly threatening to take (Aryn) to court if she doesn't comply with his demands, usually baseless and laced with lies."

During its efforts to achieve a better child custody arrangement, The Blast reported that Williams accused Drake-Lee of interfering whenever he tried to bond with their children. He claimed she constantly blocked his FaceTime calls and prevented the children from attending activities he organized.
The list continued with the entertainer claiming that Drake-Lee manipulated their vacation schedule to limit his time with their children. "Causing drama and trying to break up our children's experiences with me is far more important to Aryn than their peace, health and happiness," Williams claims.

The actor's desire to spend equal time with his children came two years after he asked for a reduction in his monthly child support bills. He explained that coughing up $40,000 is no longer feasible, especially with his exit from the beloved ABC medical drama in 2021.

According to Williams, the popular medical series was his primary source of income, and without it, he would no longer be able to meet the $40,000 child support bill. While on the show, he reportedly earned $6.2 million a year and collected $183,000 in residuals.
After his departure, Williams claimed that he had experienced a significant drop in his income and asked for the support bills to be reduced to something he could afford. In addition, he argued that his children do not need $40,000 a month to meet their needs, noting:
"Our kids' lifestyles in no way reflected $40,000 a month in child support. Our kids have a modest lifestyle. They don't have expensive hobbies or attend expensive camps."
