New Weekend Film and ENENA Ortega bombed at box office

The weekend may be one of the biggest artists to shoot his generation, but he is not a big movie starvet (not yet, as well as). While we do not have a large sample size, the biggest debut of the singer's "Hust Up Tomorrow" singer bombed him in his box office debut. Based on his album of the same name, this artistic Chinese experiment did not miss even though it has great power on the ship's Starvery - in particular, Enena Ortega ("Wednesday", "Script VI").

Directed by Trey Edward Schults, "Hurry Tomorrow" opened only $ 3.3 million on over 2,000 box office in North America over the weekend, failing to land in the top five on the charts. The film was very overshadowed by "Final Destination Blood Lines", which had a massive home opening of $ 51 million. Even so, these films were to be able to coexist as a counter-program in the ideal script. It's not how things missed, however.

"Hurry tomorrow", what Schults co-wrote with The Weeknd, Aka Abel Tesfaye and Reza Fahim, focuses on a musician who is tormented by insomnia and is dragged into a stranger who begins to reveal his existence. Barry Keogan ("Saltburn", "Etherners") also stars along with Tesfaj and Ortega.

Unfortunately the film goes on Lionsgate's bad strip at the box office dates back to last year. The good news is that the film is carrying a $ 15 million budget, so it won't be a massive loser of money. The other good news for Lionsgate is that the nation has been living the budget live, with the studio simply serving as a distributor in this team. However, Lyonsgate had made more things in mind given the power of the Starvalist included in this.

Hurry up tomorrow was a valuable experiment that didn't go out

It did not help critics, at best, mixed up on "hurry up tomorrow". /Film Whitney Seibard, for example, called the movie "All Style and No Substance" in his review. This also signifies two Ortega accidents, which is one of the biggest stars on the A-writing list in Hollywood. She also headed A24's "Death of Unicorn", which disappoints in cinema when opened in March. Ortega is a very big starvet in the right project, especially if it is in the existing franchise, as we saw in 2024 with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Unfortunately, turning original films into hits is far more problematic in this day and age.

Like The Weeknd, Tesfaye has sold nearly 25 million albums worldwide. While he suffocates his alter-ego after the release of "Hust Up Tomorrow", the term artist to shoot his size that branches into films is not unheard of. Just look at what the Prince did with "purple rain". But it was the 1980s and this is now. The fact is that "hurry up tomorrow" simply did not reason with the intended audience in early walking.

In the unit, the film can return its money by strengthening the sale of the album "Weekend". It can also be easily ignited on streaming/VOD, given the Ortega Starwear to carry it on the table. After all, Miller's "Girl" led by Ortega, hard to register in box office, but was a big hit on Netflix. That is the benefit of maintaining a low level: it can still return its money over time. You don't risk doing what you did paramount with Robbie Williams Biopic "Better Man" who appeared badly earlier this year. Having a big team for artists to shoot with a bank film starvation for film was a decent enough paper idea. In this case, it simply failed.
