Former basketball superstar Dennis Rodman responded to his daughter Trinity Rodman's brutal comments about his parenting.
Dennis took to social media to express his desire to continue working to improve his relationship with Trinity, who plays for the US women's national soccer team.
Trinity recently made headlines when she revealed how Dennis has been absent from her life and described some of his excesses.

Dennis Rodman apologizes to Trinity Rodman
The former hopper shared a montage of pictures of him and his children on his Instagram page on Thursday. In the caption of the post, the father-of-three apologized to Trinity, writing"I'm sorry I wasn't the dad you wanted me to be, but anyway I kept trying and I'm still trying and I'll never stop."
Dennis also said yes tried to reach out Trinity, claiming she wasn't returning his calls. He wrote: "I'll keep trying even when you're told as an adult not to answer my phone calls. I'll keep trying even when it's hard and it takes a long time."

The former Chicago Bulls forward expressed his desire to always be there for Trinity, writing, "I'm always here and I always tell you, rather your voice or voice mail how proud I am. He expressed his desire for his children to call him and come see him and said, "I hope one day I can get it. I'm here and I'm still trying."
Dennis concluded, "I'm here and I'm still trying." He asked Trinity to pick up the phone, adding, "You have my number, you see me calling, I'm here." The 63-year-old captioned his post, "Dennis RODMAN- Dad."

Dennis Rodman claims to be watching Trinity's Games
Dennis added an FYI section to his post where he claimed to watch Trinity play all the time.
Ex NBA star wrote: "I actually flew in to watch you play and was told not to show up because who I was with instead and I just wanted to support you so I watched you from my hotel balcony just to made me happy."
The NBA icon concluded by expressing her love for her children, writing, "I love all my children."

Trinity Rodman Says Dennis Rodman Is 'Not a Dad'
Dennis Rodman's post came hours after Trinity's comment during her appearance on the Dec. 18 episode of "Call her dad" podcast. Of her father, she said, "He's not a dad. Maybe with blood, but nothing else."
The footballer opened up about her relationship with her father, explaining that she and her brother Dennis "DJ" Rodman, who her father shares with ex-wife Michelle Moyer, have kept quiet about their strained relationship.
However, Trinity said she is now ready to talk about it. She added: "Me and my brother have been very generous in the way we've talked about it and very selfless. We never want him to look bad and that's at the cost of holding on to a lot of the issues that we've been through and the trauma."

Trinity stressed that during previous interviews, she always tried to make it clear that her father was not present and revealed that her relationship with him drastically declined after he and her mother divorced in 2012.
She also revealed that Dennis offered financial support to her mom in her early childhood, but stopped doing so after their divorce. The 22-year-old said that during her childhood she lived in a car with her mother and brother, but Moyer did his best to smooth over the difficult situation.
Trinity says Dennis 'wants to fight his demons'
The Washington Spirit forward revealed that her father was constantly partying and bringing random women to their home and they struggled to live with him. She stressed that it was frustrating to see Dennis being honest about his parenting in interviews.
"I believe he wants to fight his demons," she said And! News. "I roll my eyes because you hear something so many times, but he doesn't do anything to change it. Like, 'I wish I was a better dad.' He's said that in so many interviews. It's like, then do something.

Trinity recalled when Dennis showed up at one of her games — the 2021 National Women's Soccer League semifinals — to her embarrassment. "Going into my rookie year, going into the quarterfinals, I'm already kicking my ass," she said. "I'm like, 'oh my god.' Like, there's no way this is happening right now, I haven't seen or talked to him in months.
Despite being upset about her father's presence at the game, which ruined her "happy moment", Trinity warmed to him and they shared an emotional hug. She revealed that Dennis promised to keep in touch with her, but in the end he didn't and she didn't hear from him until this year.
Trinity says her father was surrounded by 'toxic people'
Trinity, who helped the USWNT win a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, detailed some of the things that made her dad walk away from his family. She said: "Because of how successful he was and how rich he was, he was surrounded by a lot of toxic people who would take his money and use it. Because he was in alcohol, he was brainwashed and he didn't really have any any control over anything."
She said his family tried their best to support him, but it didn't work. Trinity explained, "We tried to be that foundation and be good people around him because, in reality, we never asked for anything unless we really needed to." She added, "We just want you. He never understood that fact because he never experienced it."

The disgruntled daughter said her dad messed up family issues and never understood that people just wanted to be around him and make him happy. She concluded: "He's always thinking about money, money, money."
In addition to Trinity and DJ, Dennis Rodman also has a daughter, Alexis Rodman, who he shares with his first wife, Annie Bakes. He and Bakes married in 1992 after five years of dating, but divorced after 82 days.
