The long-awaited premiere of Kidman's "Babygirl" finally took place. However, the positive buzz surrounding the film seemed to take a hit after the actress had a bizarre encounter on the red carpet.

Kidman arrived on the red carpet in a strapless dress with a floral design, looking stylish and ready for the event.

As she walked the red carpet, she was stopped by a reporter from celebrity outlet Pop Crave who had a "quick question" for her.

But before the reporter could continue, Kidman asked them to repeat the title of their release, as she apparently hadn't heard it the first time.

When the reporter clarified, the actress responded with a cheery "Oh, great," but then shrugged, looked off camera with an air of indifference, and broke into hearty laughter — all while being filmed.

Fans shared a mixed reaction to Nicole Kidman's behavior

Although Kidman answered the question, fans online were quick to criticize her reaction during her interview with the reporter.

According to Daily Mailseveral fans called the actress "rude", while others described her behavior as "horrible".

Person on X (ex-Twitter) commented: "I'd be so embarrassed if I was Pop Crave and Nicole Kidman laughed at me like that," while another noted: "Kind of Nicole whore for me, but oh well ."

Another person said the actress is "so overrated" and has become "arrogant and full of herself".

However, some users found no problem with Kidman's reaction and found it quite funny.

Earlier, Kidman talked about how many physical and emotional days she spent on the set of her new erotic film "Babygirl".

According to the actress, it was "really hard to go through all those emotions" while shooting some "disturbing" scenes in the film.

"So you're going through trauma," Kidman said during an interview with Zendaya for Variety's Actors in function Actors.

"On Babygirl, there were parts that are now not in the movie that we made that were given to me — it was exhausting, but it was also just emotionally wrenching."

The Oscar winner also compared the intense pressures of filming "Babygirl" to her experiences working on another of her acclaimed projects, "Big Little Lies."

She added: 'The same when I was doing Big Little Lies. It was disturbing to my body and my psyche, because I couldn't tell what was real and what wasn't. I would have real bruises on my back and body."

As a result of that experience, Kidman explored ways to rebuild herself, including occasionally turning to chakra clearing as part of her recovery journey.

She said, "So I've been doing things where they clear my chakras and pray and bring out the sage. Honestly, I'll take anything to be able to step freely into the next place, unscarred, damaged, or wounded."

In the end, she learned an important lesson: there are limits to how much she can sacrifice her body for the roles she takes on.

Kidman added: "I'm still learning not to sacrifice my body for art, because part of me wants to. Having to appreciate who I am, it's a journey. But you look very stable."

The actress wanted to be seen as a 'sexual being' in her new film

During the conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Kidman revealed that her role in "Babygirl" resonated with her from the beginning because she saw it as a rare opportunity to portray a sexual woman outside of traditional age-related stereotypes.

"A lot of times women are dismissed at a certain point in their career as a sexual being. So it was really nice to be seen in this way," the actress shared.

She added: "From the moment I read it, I thought, 'Yeah, this is a voice I haven't seen, this is a place I haven't been, I don't think the audience has been'."

Kidman went on to express her gratitude for the bold hypersexuality of the role, but admitted she was surprised that showrunners approved it for the production.

"I thought it was incredibly sexy," she remarked. "Really so raw and dangerous, and I couldn't believe they were giving us money to make it."
