The novels of Frank Herbert-and some of the late stage-in-stage details of Shaddam IV. It belongs to House Corino (there are many houses in the Duna Universe) and serves as the 81st Padishah emperor ("Padishah" is just a hereditary title of Emperors in House Corino and is derived from Persian words for "Master King"). At the end of Duna, Paul technically became Emperor Padishah, and his son, Summer II, also eventually took over "Dune", but the title stopped being when Imperium fell.

Herbert described him as a tall, thin red -haired with "cold eyes", and he was compared to some characters with a predatory bird. He regularly swallowed Spice, making him look much younger than he actually (according to the novel gauge, he was 72, but he looked 35). He appeared in the first novel "Duna", but was probably killed before the events of the first monitoring of Herbert "Dune Messia" (1969), and was mentioned only in the third book "Children of Duna" (1976).

Shaddam IV also played a key role in "Predud" by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. The story of the trilogy is set just a few decades before the first "Dina". In the series, Paul will be born, and Duke Summer Atriad fights against the IX planet. Shaddam IV, trying to use control over the spices of galaxy, creates a synthetic version and begins to destroy natural things. By the way, Brian Herbert helped the script of "Duna" in 2021.

Shaddam IV also appears in "Duna's Paul" (2008), which is set between "Duna" and "Dune Messia", and is an accompanying player in the Caladan trilogy, which includes "Duna: Duke of Caladan" (2020), "Duna: Lady of Lady of Caladan" (2021).
