This post contains spoilers for "Andor" and "Starwalks War".
"Andor" withdrew from the neglected, abandoned corners of the history of "Starwells War" in ways we have never thought they were possible. The third arc of the 2-season season includes episodes 7, 8 and 9-n coins to resist the frightening reality of cooling the spine of A. Second The Gomann massacre stimulated by the Galactic Empire, where hundreds of protesters die. The play draws the first massacre directly from the non-Canon "Starwell War" extended universe (now known as legends), awarding canonical legitimacy of brutal effect.

With these double massacres from Gurman, Andor highlights the bloody, violent cycle of repeated history, where the empire has repeatedly armed local groups of resistance to cause political unrest and genocide throughout the planet. After Cassian (Diego Luna) and Wilmon (Muhanad Ben Amor) managed to survive the massacre in Gurman, we reach the inevitable realization: the rebellion must stop hiding in the shadows and find a way to directly challenge the imperial upgrade.
This is where Senator Mont Motma enters. Throughout the entire series, Motma worked tirelessly behind the scenes to finance the cause of the rebelsAnd recently, she did her best to gather colleagues senators to de -escalate the situation with Gurman. Unfortunately, her efforts have been vain after the wide massacre in Gurman Plaza, which leaves both her and Senator Bail Organ (Benjamin Brother). After discussing their plans to meet at the rebel base, Javin IV, Motma decided to deliver a speech in the Senate after the incident. In real fashion "Andor", Motma's speech is very passionate and heart, appears as a worthy successor to Luten Rael's deep monologue in season 1.

However, this unforgettable moment comes for a long time, as it dramatizes a critical blend in the "Starwood War" rebels. Let's explore these speeches and compare them.
Mont Motma rebel speech also condemns Emperor Palpatin
In the episode of Season 3 of "Starwells War", titled "Secret Freight", The ghost crew is tasked with feeling a sensitive mission to accompany someone important to security, although the identity of the person mentioned is initially kept secret from them. Shopper plays news broadcast on the crew while waiting, and that is when they find out that Senator Mont Motma (expressed by O'Rili) has "treacherous" remarks against Emperor Palpatin, attracting the anger of the empire. In this part of her speech in the Senate, we see that Motma criticizes Palpatine for the Gomann Massacre in 2 BBI, calling it a "lying executioner" for infinite exile of locals through the galaxy. Later in the episode, Motma (after being rescued by the ghost crew), makes an exciting public show to gather all the rebels, formally forming the rebel alliance with the hope of returning the republic.

Andor approaches these events through slightly modified lenses. Although we still do not see that Motma is referring to any rebels (which can happen in a row), she makes an incredibly bold decision to condemn Palpatine by decisive speech in the Senate. While the "rebels" gives us a brief meaning to what she is saying, Episode 9 of Andor fits in obvious anxiety at the moment, along with the real fear and panic that occupies the empire as her speech is broadcast. In addition, the way Motma expresses horror and sadness over the massacre in Gurman, here it feels directly, as we are private to the heinous impurities of genocide that was precisely planned by the fascist regime.
While Motma's speech is closed by a desperate empire, its final statement is as solid and incessant as its commitment to the rebel cause:

"This chamber for the truth was finally lost on Gurman Plaza (...) What happened yesterday at Gurman was unchanged genocide. Yes, genocide! (...) And the monster screaming the loudest, the monster we helped to create,
Why Motma's exciting speech is a turning point for her character
To discover the full weight of Motma using its voice to challenge the empire - and palpatine, no less - before the Senate filled with brazen sycophants, we must consider the nuances of her bow in "Andor". Although Motma is integral to the rebel cause, its public position requires constant donation of a mask that must never slip. We see aspects of this suffocating double life around the world, where Motma is unable to be her true I even in front of her loved ones. Only Luten's likes (Stellan Scarsgard) or Tay Colma (Ben Miles) Allow allow him to miss his guard to some extent, but even he is kidnapped when Luten orders Kolma's murder, after the latter seems to be a little close to (inadvertently) exposing their table. This directly leads to Malfunction prompted by Motma's anxiety through dancewhere her pain is expressed through a rare attempt at social catharsis.

The Alliance of Motma and Luten has been seriously tested after revealing that Kauti's security details consist of an imperial double agent that plans to kill her. Although Motma is conflicting with Luten's Intel, he sends Cassian to safely accompany her in any case, despite the risk that he may not trust enough to lend her cooperation. As soon as Motma finishes its speech, the Senate building descends into chaos: everyone wakes up to Motma's actions, the imperial mole to kill her, and Casian persuades her to trust him.
Even if Motma never kept the speech, the imperial would remove it from the equation, however, just because it seemed suspicious. Regardless of these machinations, Motma chooses to tear its social mask to emphasize and cause the inhumane cruelty of the empire, even when the price for such a public offense is its existence. Although she does not mention the rebel cause, Her strong condemnation of palpatine is enough proof of where her true fidelities are found.

Fortunately, Cassian manages to bring her to security, providing her critical role in Javin IV in the future. Just as she says in her speech, Motma will make sure she never loses the sight of objective reality, as a fight against the empire Also Includes separation of caustic imperial propaganda from unnoticed truth. Once it reaches Javin, Motma will actively help shape the events that eventually get into what is happening in the "Rogue One" and beyond.
