Kevin Costner Reacts to 'Yellowstone' and Luke Grimes' 'Feud' Finale

Kevin Costner recently commented on the hit series "Yellowstone” and rumors of a rift with his former co-star Luke Grimes.

In a new video, the acclaimed actor shared his thoughts on the hit drama's finale after leaving the show due to alleged conflicts with creator Taylor Sheridan.

After leaving the popular series, Kevin Costner moved on to his second project, "Horizon: An American Saga."

Costner has broken his silence on the "Yellowstone" Season 5 finale and his reported conflict with co-star Luke Grimes.

In the video he came up with Daily Mailan unidentified person approached the Oscar winner while he was walking in Aspen and asked his thoughts on the final episodes weeks after his character John Dutton was killed in a fake suicide.

"I don't think about (the Yellowstone finale), I don't think I've thought about it, we'll just let it go," Costner replied.

The individual then doubled down on his relationship with on-screen son and actor Kayce Dutton Grimes, asking Costner if he had spoken to him, but the 69-year-old movie star noted that he hadn't.

Costner starred in the show as the head of the Dutton Ranch in Montana. However, his character was unexpectedly killed off in a murder-for-hire plot after a rumored feud with Taylor Sheridan and planning a conflict for his own film, Horizon.

Grimes was candid about how Costner's exit from the show improved the filming experience for him and the rest of the cast.

"Hopefully everyone can see that the time has come," he said of Costner's departure, according to Daily Mail. "To be really honest, there was a part of Kevin leaving that meant some of the conflict was gone."

Grimes continued, "Obviously, it wasn't super fun to be around... Not pointing fingers, but it was actually the easiest season we shot."

In a recent interview with Men's HealthGrimes also noted that he hasn't spoken to Costner since the show ended.

"No, I haven't spoken to him since. It's not about any hard feelings or anything, it's just, he's Kevin Costner," he joked. "He's a big deal. I have his phone number - I just don't feel like it's my place to contact him. He can reach me if he wants to."

Grimes told the news outlet at the time that none of the cast members "saw it happen the way it did, and obviously there was news about possible explosions behind the scenes or whatever. But just like in life, man, these things happen, they happen fast and they're not predictable."

In an interview with DeadlineCostner weighed in on his rumored relationship with show creator Taylor Sheridan.

Reports suggest that the pair clashed because the actor wanted to say how his character ended up. Costner also reportedly faced scheduling conflicts when he began shooting his Western series Horizon: An American Saga.

"I didn't feel good about it last year, because of the way they talked about it. It wasn't true," Costner said, referring to the blame he received for the behind-the-scenes drama.

"I signed a contract for the fifth, sixth and seventh seasons. In February, after two or three months of negotiations, they signed another contract," he explained further. "They wanted to fix that one, and instead of seasons six and seven, it was 5A and 5B, and maybe we'll do six. They couldn't do it. Horizon was set in the middle, but Yellowstone was first. I fit right in. (Horizon) into the gaps.

He was not happy that his fellow cast members did not stand up for him

Costner admitted that what he was saying was "right" and that he took a "beating from those (expletive) guys" over the team, "not speaking for me and letting crazy stories come out."

He added that he was "not happy about it" as he continued to talk about the situation.

"If you know me well enough, I've made Yellowstone my first priority, and to insinuate anything else would be wrong," he explained in his chat with Deadline. "I didn't initiate any of that. They did. They were tap dancing... I don't know why they didn't stand up for me."

The actor was 'scared the hell out' of the show's cast

Denim Richards, whose character Colby was recently killed off on the show, said Costner was "scared as hell" when the actors first met at the table.

"Everybody gathers and (Kevin Costner) walks in. He's this big presence, but so humble," Richards told New York Post. "Everybody's getting ready to get up from the table, read, and go outside. (Costner) said, 'I don't know about you, but I'm scared as hell. So why don't we come together as best we can, and make this happen, and support each other. others'."

Richards noted that Costner's speech made "the stress leave the room" and that "it was a beautiful thing."

He added: "This is an Oscar-winning legend ... whether he was actually scared or not, who knows. But it gave everyone an extra level of confidence that there was no hierarchy."
