Taylor Sheridan's "Landman" is much like his series "Yellowstone"Although the oil industry stands for cowboys. That, he said, both plays are essentially Western today that focus on families and heavy characters caught in crime and other types of shenanigans. Moreover, their respective stories are thematically similar, exploring ideas for the environment, politics, capitalism and communities. Despite their common interests, however, "Yellowstone" and "Landman" are not officially related - and the latter has a difference in being Something Adapted from podcast for real events.

Landman's basis comes from co-creator Christian Wallace's podcast, BoomTown, in collaboration with imperative entertainment and monthly Texas. The documentary series "Chronicles' Oil Boom" in West Texas and exploring the impact on the state of Lone Star - from everything, from its policy to the economy. Wallace spent a year working in the old fields in Texas to gain first -hand experience, and his knowledge helped move podcast directly to iTunes graphs after his release.

It was just a matter of time until the show attracted the attention of someone like Sheridan, and the rest was history. However, "Landman" throws in fabricated - and occasionally cruel - Fixage Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), cartel violence and Unrepulished Drama of Brothers and Sisters To boost the story, so don't get into the series expecting a real BoomTown adaptation. However, podcast is an essential listening to fans who want to know more about the Texas oil industry that informs the play. Meanwhile, Wallace is surprised that so many people gravitated to "Bumtown" in the first place.
