Homer's Odyssey Epic, as he could tell you every seventh grade, began his life as part of the ancient Greek oral tradition, shared over the fires in long, pleasant Athens nights. The epic was not recorded until the seventh century BC, finally codifying the story that, no doubt, suffered hundreds of changes in life. "Odyssey" takes place after the events of the Trojan War. His hero, Odysseus, became captured on the Mediterranean island with a beautiful nymph named Calypso, living with her for eight years. However, Odysseus missed his wife Penelope and eventually headed for a trip home. Penylope, meanwhile, had to defend very stupid, freelance suitors, who assume that Odysseus are dead and wanted to stick to his home.

The most famous passages from Odyssey are for Odysseus's fantastic meetings with monsters and gods. The old soldier has to face cyclops, float along the island of Sirens, pass the waters between the multi-head, the rocky monster and mammals, and to face a wizard that turns his team into pigs. The second half of Odyssey is for Odysseus's last return, and how he had to be used in his house in masking to kill all the suitors.

The earliest recorded version of Odyssey is most likely Italian adventurous flick of 1911 "L'rissea", which can be viewed online. The most famous adaptation of the screen may be the version of Andrei Konchalovski's TV miniseries of 1997, starring Armande Asante, although more people saw the film Cohen Bros. 2000 "Oh, where?

As mentioned, remember the best parts of Odyssey all come from the first half, as this is the part of the gods and monsters. Any younger child will probably be able to tell you about the polyphema that man eats, or when Odysseus was trapped between the Skila and Sharibdis-Sharibdis (where we get the phrase "between rock and hard place"). We all know about the circus, the wind of the wind that was given to Odysseus by Aolus the God of Winds and the cannibalist Laestigans. When Schoolkids read "Odyssey", although teachers often shorten the second half, as it throws our gentle, modern strolling notions. Thelemahus is considered a threat to suitors because he is the successor of Odysseus, so he is plotted to kill him. The suits are fighting all maids and forces Penelope to choose one of them to marry. Odysseus must be fastened to this.

"Returning" is an unusual film in the history of Odyssey adaptations for lack of magical elements. The gods are active participants in Homer's original EP, but are strangely absent from the "return", making every decision completely Odysseus.
