The future of the galaxy far, far on the big screen, has appeared in the focus during this year's celebration of "Starwells War" in Japan, which happened at the weekend. One of the biggest announcements from the event was " Confirmation of a new movie titled "Starweels War: Starfighter", which will star Ryan Gosling ("Barbie") and is greeted by director John Levi ("Deadpool & Wolverine"). Although much remains mysterious about the project so far, it is hit by theaters in 2027 and is already in pre-production. Be it accidental or design, we also know that the title of the film follows its roots back in the video game of the era.

The game in question is also titled "Starfighter War" and was released for PlayStation 2 in 2001, later, making Xbox and PC. It was one of the many, many links to products released after the "phantom threat" and before the "clon attack" arrived in 2002. No one could rightly claim that the game is just as beloved as, say, say, Games "War of Starwives" from the early 2000sBut it was well received at the time of the announcement, and even caused a sequel ("Starwell War: EDI Starferter").
"Starfighter" is set firmly around the time of the "phantom threat" and follows the trio of Starfighter pilots, as they take a series of dangerous missions to rescue the planet Nabu. Together, the pilot of the rookie Nabu, Reese Dalaus, the paid Vana Sage and the non-human pirate, form an incredible alliance because they seek to stop the attack of the Trade Federation on their once peaceful world.

Given where this game is taking place on the entire time frame "War of Starwells"There is absolutely no chance of Gosling and Levi's film any kind of adaptation to the game itself. That said, it is still possible for the film to take a very loose inspiration from the story of the original game, trying to tell a similar story in another era.
Will the movie "War on the Starvers: Starfighter" take inspiration from the game?
One of the few things we know specifically about the Starfighter movie is that Wille heads somewhere new to the Galaxy "War on Starwives". Levi and Gosling and both surpassed the news of the celebration, revealing that the film would take about five years after the "rise of Skywalker". We're talking about a story that has been for decades removed from the "phantom threat" of the timeline and takes place in what Lucasfilm called the era of the new EDI.

Again, this excludes any kind of direct adaptation. But what we could see is the movie "War of the Starwells" focused on a combat pilot, most likely, played by Gosling, who is tasked with running a dangerous mission (or missions) with perhaps an incredible, group group of other pilots. That way, it would be a new kind of story when it comes to the films "War on Starwells", but it can also look very loosely like the game with which it shares a name. Even if this is not the case, however, this is still an interesting part of Trivia.
Outside of this film, 2026 will see the release of "Mandalorian and Groogo", which will serve as the first film "War of the Starvars" by "Rise of Skywalker". Lucasfilm also has several other developmental features, including Ray's film, a film focused on the very beginnings of the Edgei, a brand new trilogy developed by Simon Kinberg, and one of Lucasfilm's chief creative officer, Dave Philoni, who will connect the events of Mandalorians. But before it happened, Philoni must get season 2 in Ahsoka in books For its projected edition of Disney+ sometime next year. We have to wait and see what follows next, but for now, all eyes are on Gosling and Levi.
