Some actors are just cut out to play bad guys, and while Robert Patrick isn't tough every time out, the movies he's best known for show him giving the good guys a hell of a hard time. The one-time Bowling Green State University athletic standout began starring in exploitation films directed by acclaimed Filipino filmmaker Syrio H. Santiago (his 1976 actioner The Muthers is a must-see), and eventually found his way to Hollywood, where he landed his role as the liquid metal T-1000 James Cameron's 1991 action classic Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Patrick demonstrated real range in '90s films like Fire in the Sky, Cool Surface, and The Strip, but for the most part Hollywood knew he could deliver the sarcastic goods as a villain, and he took these roles without hesitation. (He's particularly nasty as the white supremacist DC supervillain August "Ougie" Smith, aka the White Dragon in Max's Peacemaker series.) In doing so, Patrick often found himself opposite some of the most iconic action heroes in movie history, meaning his characters rarely made it to the end credits with a pulse. But that's the thing, and Patrick is more than fine with this situation. In fact, he's actually proud of his many on-screen deaths, especially when he's dispatched by one of Hollywood's big guns.

In a 2008 interview with Den of GeekRobert Patrick was asked how he felt about being offended by the holy trinity of causing chaos Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis (find out where those three rank /List of 18 Best Action Movies on Film). He elaborated by adding a fourth star to his list of screen attackers. According to Patrick:

“It is (a badge of honor), but let me give you a little extra badge of honor. Ready for this? First I was killed by Bruce Willis, Schwarzenegger, and then Stallone. by the former Mrs. Bruce Willis (aka Demi Moore).

• In Die Hard 2 (which was directed by Rennie Harlin and released in 1990), he repeatedly shot through a wacky air vent in an airport terminal under construction by Willis' John McClane.
• In "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" (which, again, was directed by James Cameron and came out in 1991), he gets smashed in the stomach by a grenade from Schwarzenegger as a T-800 and falls into a pool of molten metal (where they desperately trying to reshape itself before dissolving into oblivion).
• In Gangster Land (which was directed by James Mangold and debuted in 1997), he runs out of his house, engages Freddie Heflin (Stallone) with a shotgun, and ends up on the wrong end of a shootout (his surprise, given the amusedly dazed expression on his character as he dies).
• In "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" (which was directed by McG and released in theaters in 2003), Patrick's corrupt U.S. Marshal is blown up by Demi Moore's ex-Angel turned villain Madison Lee at the Griffith Park Observatory.
