The UK television series "Skins" was successful in both home and abroad, so in 2011, MTV tried to bring that success in the United States with its own adaptation. Almost directly copying the first season of the UK version, character-character-character and win-for-bit, only with a new location, the new "skins" had the potential to be the sensations of the state. The show even had the creator of the original series, Brian Elsley, helping to adjust, and they threw a brand new group of amateur relative pieces, hoping that they might start several careers in the spirit of their predecessor. (Seriously, the first season of "Skini" boasts Daniel Kalujia, Kaya Skodelario, Hannah Murray, And Dev Patel.) Unfortunately, this was not the case, and the play was canceled after only one season - so what happened?

It seems that the United States just weren't ready for something like "skins", which is pretty funny given that Success of the American adaptation of the equally-shaling "shameless", But the ratings were low, and the play proved to be too expensive for MTV when parents' groups began to protest and withdraw advertising. In the dream world, MTV would be able to really go wildly with its version of the teens soap drama, but the American pearl merger and trying to recreate the original almost correctly wrote its early end.

The two versions of "skins" follow a group of something troubled teenagers in the last two years of high school, exploring difficult topics such as sexuality, pregnancy, drug use and abuse. The show can be difficult to watch, with their young characters experiencing all kinds of trauma, but it feels authentic in some ways of teenage experience because teens in real life often do Use drugs, have sex and fun too hard. Part of what made the original show feel so brilliant was the young team of mostly unknowns (including baby Dev Patel), because it is surprising when teenagers play teenagers, but it has upset the Parents TV Council, who wanted a federal investigation into the series because they thought it was "child pornography". While the characters are involved in mature activities, and some of the actors were under 18 years of age, it is never presented for titylated, just to show how teenagers really live.

Advertisers withdrew their ads from broadcasting MTV during the show's broadcast, including Taco Bell and General Aternal Motors, and after only one season with very modest viewership, they decided to pull the plugin. Time reviews highlight the show trying to clean up the American version, while also copying everything else recorded in certain episodes, felt like the alleged adaptation at best, so it may be the best that MTV's "skins" crashed and burned. Oh well, we will always have the version in the UK, which lasted seven seasons and is Like "euphoria", but better.
