Beau Bridges had to create backstation of General Landri for Stargate SG-1

This post contains spoilers for "Stargat SG-1".

In the huge, fantastic world of Stargate SG-1, several characters are just as blunt and meaningless as General Hank Landges. The commander of the Stargat Command (after SG-1 leader Jackec O'Neill was promoted to Major General at the start of the 9th season), Landri took over after the crew of the SG-1 officially dissolved. The Stargate command has always been a lubricated machine, with Military officers like George S. Hammond (Don S. Davis) Do their best to cope with threats of inter -ghalactic conflict and invasion. Landri continues this tradition in seasons 9 and 10 of the show, bringing with him a sense of humor that goes hand in hand with his shouting power with his officers. In addition to the usual shenanigans that include the Stargat command, Landri's bow is pushing to a significant relationship with his alienated daughter, Caroline (Lexa Doyig), who appears to be the chief medical director of the organization.

Although Landry appears stable During the last two seasons of the showWe still don't know much about him. His interactions with O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) are painted as an officer worthy of respect that understands that Starghat's command does not require a micromanage. He is Random and progressing at times, but Landri gradually realizes that every member of the SG-1 is an integral part of space missions that come with a unique set of challenges they can only handle. However, much of what we know about Landry and its disposition is thanks to the Beau Bridges himself. It turns out, the "Stargate SG-1" crew worked closely with bridges to create extensive landry backsters, a piece from which the actor based on his research on military generals in real life.

In conversation with GateBridges spoke in length about the development of Landri "through different types of situations" and creating a biography that would help ground his performance.

Beau Bridges made Landri feel like a real military general in Stargate SG-1

According to Bridges, the writers Stargat SG-1 did not use Landri earlier, as the producers approached him directly for the role and asked him to cooperate in the task of filling the gaps. This is interesting, as the presence of Landri initially seems to be limited to everyday responsibilities, such as welcoming various races to maintain peace relations or a struggle for the Stargat command. However, Bridges inserts Landri with a dynamic that makes him feel like more than just another commander, especially given the fact that Hammond's departure left behind a gap. This is what the bridges had to say about the aspect of the rear of the character:

"General Landri was particularly interesting to me because when I was hired to play the character, he was basically just an empty page. There was nothing there. So, (writer and producer) Robert (C.

Although Landri's backstation is not an explicit focus on the episodes in which we get, we get sliders from his past, as he used to be captain during the Vietnam war and played a key role in rescue missions. These minor details are introduced into the present, especially his dynamics with his daughter Caroline, who wants to connect after years of alienation, but is not the best in communication. The bridges continued to explain how they were dealing with these nuances as they came up with the characterization of Landri:

"Well, when I researched generals - this is what I did, and it helped me find the back story of General Landri (...) and I also discovered that, as far as the whole challenge of command is facing, they are people in the end and they have all the human problems just like others. So I love it."

Although Landry is not an important character in "Stargat SG-1", he is more than service as a military commander who is competent in what he does. After all, there are greater, more sensitive things to focus on, including a horde Antagonistic system of masters like Anubis who want to destroy the country for good.
