'Scream 7' Officially Salutes Beloved Woodsboro Massacre Survivor
The two-time Ghostface survivor is primed and ready to face the masked killer for round three in "Scream 7."
According to reports, the actor Mason Gooding will reprise his role as friendly player Chad Meeks-Martin, a former member of the "Core Four" first established in the 2022 reboot/sequel "Scream."
The 28-year-old performer and son of Oscar winner Cube Gooding, Jr. now joins franchise mainstay Neve Campbell, returning after an absence from 2023's “Scream VI” due to salary disputes, and new cast members Isabel May, Asa Germann, Celeste O'Connor, McKenna Grace, and Sam Rechner, trans The Hollywood Reporter.
Kevin Williamson, screenwriter of the original 1996 film “Scream,” will direct the film, with Guy Busick writing the story.

How Chad will fit into 'Scream 7' remains to be seen
Gooding's addition of “Scream 7” makes for an interesting twist in the continuation of the narrative because of the remaining “Core Four” and the actors who portray them.
Melissa Barrera, who joined "Scream (2022)" as protagonist Sam Carpenter and reprized the role in "Scream 6," was famously fired from the franchise after comments she made regarding the 2023 Israel-Hamas war.
Days later, actress Jenna Ortega, who portrayed Sam's on-screen sister Tara, revealed that she had quietly asked to be let go from "Scream 7" months before the controversy over a scheduling conflict with Netflix's hit series "Wednesday."
This leaves Jasmin Savoy Brown, who played Mindy Meeks-Martin, Chad's twin sister and the final piece of the "Core Four."

As of this writing, no official word has been released regarding Brown's return.
However, rumors around the internet insist that the actress told fans at the recent Sao Paulo Comic Con Expo that she will not be appearing in “Scream 7”.

Chad Survives Brutal Attack In 'Scream 6' - Is He The 'New' Dewey?
Chad's presence in “Scream 7” is a (cinematic) miracle, considering the horrific nature in which he was left in “Scream 6”.
(Spoilers for “Scream 6.”)
In an attempt to lure Ghostface out into the open, Chad is chased by not one, but two masked figures in the movie theater.
The killers then catch him and stab him again. With his seemingly last breath, Chad tells Tara, just ahead of him, to keep running. In the final moments of the film, a battered but alive Tara overhears the paramedics telling each other that they have found another survivor of the carnage.
The audience then sees Chad being taken out on a stretcher, much like another victim of Ghostface in multiple "Scream" films, former Woodsboro Sheriff Dewey Riley (David Arquette).

I'm talking to Entertainment Weekly In 2023, Gooding admitted that Chad's astonishing survival was a fluke — because he wasn't even supposed to survive "Scream (2022)."
"I was kind of a bait and switch," he explained. "The script I got the first time said I died. I don't think you necessarily go into a 'Scream' movie expecting to live every time. It wasn't until we started shooting 'Scream 5' that I was told I would survive and make it to the next one ."
What we know so far about 'Scream 7'
As expected, plot details for “Scream 7” have been scarce. However, the inclusion of new actress Isabella May in November has given weight to rumors that the events of the new film could take place years after the timeline of "Scream 6".
As reported here The BlastMay will play the grown daughter of Sidney Prescott (Campbell), the original heroine of the franchise.
Sidney was last seen in the movie "Scream (2022)" with small children and no mention of other children with her husband Mark Kincaid (Patrick Dempsey).
If May's role is to be believed, then the potential events of "Scream 7" would seemingly take place long after the events of "Scream 6."
None of these factors, however, have been confirmed – except for the identity of Maya's character.
