You know the most DC Comics about their superhero books, but they published a fair share of Western comics: "All-Star West", "Strange Western Stories", etc. The Scan's Gun, Ahon Hex, sometimes crosses with DC superheroes. But a 1997 comic book came out even further and turned the justice league into cowboys: "Leaders for Justice", "" Scripts by Jacques Dixon and drawn by JH Williams III.

In the border town of Paradise, illegal Felix Faust drags boldly a run that destroys the city and kills Deputy Oberon. Sheriff Diana Prince goes on for retaliation and gathers a position to bring justice: Kid Flash, Hawkman, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle and Marcian Monhunter.

Wait, why these characters? Because it is based on the modern lineup of justice. In the late 80's until the mid-90's, "Justice League" mostly starred in more vague characters. It's great for JM Dematteis, Kevin Maguire and Keith Giffen in 1987 "Justice League: International" re -launch. It was still a superhero book, but called the spectacle for a more focus on comedy and characterization.

In 1993, A miracle of a woman became the Leader of Justice League, Hence she is the Starwar of "Justice Drivers" too. Maxwell Lord, a wealthy CEO and sponsor of international justice for justice, has been renamed "justice drivers" as a baron industrial robber, La Real Rail Magnate Eh Hariman.

Later in 1997, Grant Morrison and Howard Porter re -began the justice league in "JLA" with the classic lineup. This has turned the book back into the home of DC A-List characters and teasing The cartoon series Soon-to-Doyden "Justice League". "Riduction Riders" was one of the latest Ganpps of Justice League as a place for B-writers to act.

Leading "drivers of justice" are recognizable. The suits can be remedied from 19th -century materials, but there is no confusing who is who. Diana still has a red, blue and golden eagle corset. Kid Flash wears an old leather jacket, but red with lightning marks. The blue beetle wears a pilot mask -a pil with an anterine, claiming that negative ionization increases its brain power.

The clearer stories of the characters are reworked in western archetypes. Like Kid Flash, Wally West is the fastest gun on the border than the fastest man alive. He is also on the run for the murder of Marshal Barry Allen of Abilen, Kansas. His search is a detective of Pinkeron, Guy Gardner/Kid Baltimore. Green lanterns are basically space policemen, so naturally, the lantern in this story is Pinkerton.

DC Comics

Hokman was born American shaman, Booster Gold is a pistol gambling, and the blue beetle is an inventor. Johnon Onesons is the mysterious hunter of the legislator for his own reasons. When it first appears to be in the shade, burned only by a camp, and you can't say whether his skin is really green or just burned that way.

At the end of the comic book, it turns out that the blue beetle was telling the story of Dime novelist Clark Kent, author of "Colonel Kent West Bravados". One part of the story of Kent unbeliever is that Maxwell Lord had a foreign accomplice. "A strange visitor from another planet ... it's too fantastic."

DC Comics

The comic book eventually relies on the fantastic side of the Steampunk side of the West. Lord has an army of Androids, watches, and its goal is a fully automated railroad without the need to share profits for workers. What makes this be emphasized is that Williams' art is otherwise relied on on the visual language of the West. Diana's panel buried by Oberon (above) is Immediately from Clint Eastwood's "unplanned".

"Riduction Riders" is a one-stroke comic book, but it was part of a larger meta-series of DC: Elseworlds. Similar to "What if ...?" At Marvel, Elsourts would take DC characters and glued them to unknown settings or genres.

The first story of Elseworlds, or at least proof of the brand concept, is often considered "Batman: Got from Gas Late." Written by Brian Augustine and Drawed by Mike Mignola (who used his experience drawing Batman to create Helboy)The comic book shows Bruce Wayne to become Batman in the city of Gotham from the 19th century.

"Leaders of Justice" has been packaged in the edition: "DC Elseworlds: Justice League" Volume 1. The book opening site explains the election premise:

"In Elsawarlands, the heroes are taken from the usual settings and put in strange times and places. Some that existed, or maybe existed, and others that could not, could not or should not exist. The result: the stories that make characters who are known yesterday as they look as fresh as tomorrow. "

The other stories included in the volume include "the best of Elsverveld" (where Batman and Superman are heroes of the pulp in the 1920s), "Miracle of Woman: Amazon" (where Diana becomes a hero in Victoria London), "League of Justice" (where superheroes live in a world).

At the end of "Riduction Riders", the blue beetle unfortunately tells Kent that the team was riding together only to that adventure. If they need to be remembered, it will be like myths. DC has never released a full series of "justice drivers", but there were occasional comic book knots. Grant Morrison's multi-performance grant Catalogs justice drivers as they exist on Earth-18. The final of the "Justice League Unlimited League" Season 1, titled "Once and Future Work", is also a Batman, a miracle of a woman and a green lantern that are thrown in time on the Old West. While there, they sit like cowboys.

I didn't expect to see a movie "Riduction Riders" coming out of DC Studios by the Jameseshes Gun, but it's a fun small comic book with an exciting premise. If you could dig it, you would encourage you to do so.
