Agave Games announced today that it has raised $18 million in Series A funding following a successful seed round earlier this year. Felix Capital and Balderton Capital co-led the round, with participation from E2VC. Agav said it plans to use the funding to expand its popular mobile puzzle title, Find the Cat, as well as develop new games and expand its team in Istanbul.
Find the Cat is a casual puzzle game where players must find the cat as the name suggests. According to Agave, the game had more than 10 million downloads in its first quarter on the market. Alper Ohner, CEO of Agave Games, said in a statement: “This investment allows us to double down on the success of Find the Cats while exploring new ideas that will redefine puzzle games. We are excited to take our studio to the next level by expanding our team and portfolio with games that set new standards in specific genres."
As noted, the studio plans to develop new casual puzzle titles to follow up on Finding the Cat, with at least two slated to launch next year. According to Agav, it plans to focus on innovative game mechanics and social features, while also using a dual monetization focus with in-app advertising and in-app purchases. Baran Terzioglu, Agave's CPO and founder, said in a statement that the new games "will push the boundaries of what players expect from everyday games and introduce new concepts that resonate globally."
Rob Moffat, partner at Balderton Capital, said in a separate statement: “Finding Cat is a two-year success. Agave has built an exceptional team and worked very hard to identify and optimize new genres and produce polished games. Finding the Cat is just the beginning, and I'm excited to see their pipeline launch in 2025."
