Why Mark Grayson wears a blue suit in an invincible season 3

You can say a lot about the character of comics according to the type of suit they wear. The hats, cowards and color patterns all serve as a goal, and it is often more than just making the hero or the villain look cool enough to guarantee figures for action. "Unbeatable" is a Love -Board to the whole genre of superhero comics in many ways, and as such, they pay tribute to many classic comics through its costumes, such as those for Darkwing (Lenny Jameses), Red Rush (Michael Kudlitz), the different guardians of the world and omny-man (FC Simmons).

The invincible (Steven Jun) gets a processed look a few episodes in season 3, exchanging yellow, black and light blue for simpler, tighter clothing only with dark blue and black. Superhero Designer Extrocodnar Art Rosenbaum (Mark Hamil) gives a new suit to mark his younger brother Oliver (Christian Converi) with the look of Robin-ESK to fight crime. At the moment, Mark notes that blue and black costume can be a little too serious about its taste, but that is the increasingly reflection we get from it at the time.

In the original "invincible" comics, Mark shows a little more remorse for losing its original color scheme, to which art responds by saying he is bored of the old yellow suit and some of his more newspaper features. Mechanically, the blue and black suit offers nothing different, but signals a change for both Mark and the story as a whole.

The new suit of invincible is a big change for the character

As Mark's "serious" comment hinted, his new lawsuit cites some changes. He is no longer updated. At this point, he is definitely the strongest superhero on Earth and he has actively stepped into that greater responsibility. This extra maturity and intensity is reflected in its darker, frightening appearance.

If you have read the comic books (or just were Watching the "invincible" season 3), you will know that the blue and black suit also signals some of the darkest "invincible" arc stories. Some fans (and even Mark himself, in the comics), commented on the lawsuit almost feeling "cursed" as a result, and creator Robert Kirkman has repeatedly discussed its greater importance.

"Going to the third season, it seemed as good time to bring a new mark to the forefront of everything that went on season 2," Kirkman explained in an interview in 2024 with Diversity. "He is in a different space and it is reflected in his suit." As for what is coming, Kirkman admitted that some pretty heavy stories are on the way. "Everyone who reads the comic book series knows the era of the blue suits of the" invincible "is the darkest and most intense and has a lot of great things about the blue suit," he said.

The blue and black suit of the invincible evokes and classics of comics

In addition to its narrative symbolism, the new invertible lawsuit also provokes some of the famous comics history costumes. The most direct comparison, given her darker aura, is probably the legendary Black Spiderman suit that eventually begins poison-one of the few Points of comparison between Spider-Man and invincible. But until Mark's new suit corrupt physically in a darker, cruel thing, his switch to blue and black matches the heavier stories (like his season of season 3 with Cecil, as well as his transferred perspective on killing).

In principle, there is a rather long history of darker superhero suits that signal darker stories. Think about Robin to turn into a nightwing - a hero whose blue and black color scheme is almost identical to that of Mark's new suit. With Omni-Man, and Oliver is ready to start fighting the country's crime, Mark makes his own version of the evolution of Robin-to-night, with a new child taking his place. You can also see the recent cinema superhero for examples of a phenomenon of dark suits, which has attracted special attention in the case of Superman's black suit in "Zac Snyder".

New episodes of "invincible" descend Thursday in the premiere video.
