Marcus Rashford has spoken out after being sent off for Man Utd's win over Man City

Marcus Rashford took to social media to celebrate with his Manchester United team-mates following their 2-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday.

United trailed until the final five minutes, when Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty and Amado Diallo's sharp strike brought the red devils a dramatic three points and suffered City's eighth defeat in 11 games in all competitions.

Rashford played no part in the game after he was on dropped from the team alongside Alejandro Garnach, with head coach Ruben Amorim quick to confirm that there were no injuries or disciplinary issues behind his decision.

However, he still managed to join in the celebrations, posting a photo of Amad's celebration with the caption 'Yesssssssss! I like guys on social media.

After the final whistle, Amorim pointed to the standards when asked about the omission of Rashford and Garnach, insisting that they must live up to professional expectations at a time when many United staff members lost their jobs due to cost-cutting.

Crucially, the head coach insisted he was not trying to send a statement or drop any players from the squad, stressing that anyone can earn a place in the squad for the upcoming Carabao Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur by working hard behind the scenes.
