House of Representatives Freedom Caucus statement read.
"The House should only consider what is absolutely necessary right now, provide critical relief to hurricane victims and farmers, offset it with wasteful spending by other parts of the government, and then wait for President Trump to take office and better manage relief efforts."
If new spending is not approved through an appropriations bill or a stopgap measure, a partial government shutdown could occur before Christmas.
