It is difficult for events to be done to behead Ned Stark or the Red Wedding, but the end of the "House of the Dragon" season has appeared with the death of Luceris Vellarion (Eliot Grihaul). Luke may not have been as much time on the screen as some other characters in the franchise before his tragic endings, but his status as an innocent child, the random nature of his death and the fantastic performance of the young Starwarray Eliot Grihalt all combines to make his murder is really a fatal final for the inaugural season of the show.

As tension between Ranean Targaryen (Emma D'Ars) And King's Haitauer faction is trying to gather as many allies on her banner as much as she can. Since both of her sons are the dragon, she sends her oldest, Jacacheris (Harry Collett), to meet House Arin in Valle and House Stark in the north. Luke has been sent by the end of the storm to appeal to Lord Boros Sineteon (Roger Evans). Unfortunately, he is too late, as Alikent Haytauer (Olivia Cook) has already sent his son Aemond (Evan Mitchell) to heal the demands. Aemond was given a stronger partnership offer, so Luke's appeal falls on deaf ears, and he tries to fly home through a furious storm.

He is still accusing Luke of loss of eye a few years ago, and wanting to pamper his power, Aemond is prosecuting the younger boy against his dragon, Vhagar, who dwarfs. The move is intended only as a tactic of intimidation, but Aemond loses control of Vhagar, who swallowed the dragon and the boy.

Given what ends to happen, it is easy to accuse Luceris' death. After all, he's just a boy. How could he send him alone to deal with such a potentially dangerous mission? Of course, she did not know that Aemond would wait, but there is still a risk.

The unfortunate reality is that dragonriders are not easy to accomplish, and Raeanera was in the mode of all hands on the deck to ensure enough strength to maintain its claim on the throne strong. At a time when she sends Luceris, the war is still cold. There is a potential for true violence, but both sides still believe - at least in cases of Alicente and raises specifically - that a peaceful resolution can be achieved. These abductions for power and political allies are intended as an obstacle to a real war. And yet, it is Luke's departure that ends with the lighting of the spark of war, and as soon as it catches up, neither side can extinguish it.

"House of the Dragon" is a series of selfish decisions and missed communications, culminating in a conflict that devours the entire Westeros and kills incompatible innocent. If there is a message in Luceris' death, it is that the rich and powerful game of dangerous games with each other, but the real outcome affects regular people.

Would you start the dance of the Dragons War if Lukeris returned safely from the end of the storm? The best thing about hypothetics is that it is impossible to say for sure. What we know, however, is that Raneira was still very interested in peace before the murder of her son. The Hatauer faction offers to allow it to keep its title and dragon if it recognizes Egon II's rule (Tom Glyn-Carnie). But even before Laceris was killed, he ranning his own crowning.

It is unlikely that Egon would allow her to declare herself a queen, even if she had never hit him. It is equally unlikely that Raneja will return to her decision after making the crown. And since most of the real machinery of the Westeros war is led by men like Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) and Otto Hightauer (Reese Ifans), the call for action may not have been in the hands of any ruler.

To survive Luke, there would probably be another event that started things in a full bloodshed. Tensions would not be reduced alone, and although Alikent shows excellent remorse in season 2 and a desire for peace, it seems unlikely that she would have had such a change in her heart if her son did not kill bows. The Rojals decided ahead of time that it would be a war, whether they recognized that truth or not. Luke was simply the first domino to fall.

While "House of the Dragon" makes a lot of big changes in George R.'s story from Fire & Blood. As in the show, the book describes Aemond causing Luke at the end of Storm, and then follows it in a storm. There is a little more ambiguity about what is actually happening there, as Martin's book is told as a history from the point of view of various chroniclers. There are also some added details of the tension in the Lord Boros Barraeon gym, giving an additional explanation why Aemond was so angry and voluntarily doing something so stupid.

In both versions of the story, Luke's death is the point of the pillar on which the dragon's dance turns. We have some time to wait before "House of the Dragon" Season 3 It arrives, but Luke may not be the most brutal death in the series when everything is said and done. And given What happens with blood and cheese in the "house of the dragon" season 2He probably may not be anymore.
